Add carry as one of the options for the honor system

I would like to see Carry added to the honor system. There are have been many games where someone on my team just carried the game and calling it teamwork wouldn't be fitting since it was more of just me or the rest of the team following up instead of game winning teamwork.

But that's not how the honor system is supposed to work. You shouldn't be honoring someone merely because they're good at the game. You should be honoring them because they made your day better, by being friendly, helping you out, or just being a good teammate.

Being an exceptional member of the team isn't honor worthy? Because those players definitely make my day better when they gain a lead and are able to transition it to game winning actions and decisions with little to no help from me or the team. Creating pressure on the map while alleviating it from me is being a good teammate and helping me. Something I highly respect in a player that I don't think the honor teamwork does justice.

Being an exceptional member of a team is honor-worthy, I think, whether you carried or were carried by someone else. Just because you are behind or lost your lane matchup doesn't mean that you can't play as a good team member!

I always honor people who were there for team objectives and contributed in team fights with "Teamwork," whether they carried the game or not.

Well that would fall under reasons for honoring a person for teamwork which I'm not denying... What I'm asking to be added is the option to honor someone on your team you think was significantly controlling the flow of the game while being a major reason for victory. Something I think that doesn't fall under the teamwork honor but happens often enough and is honor worthy to have its own honor option.

I understand. I guess what I was trying to say is that I think that, whether you controlled the flow of the game by leading or following well, by winning your lane or by not losing it, by carrying or by being carried, you deserve the same amount of honor either way. I think of honor as rewarding sportsmanlike players. Rewarding players for carrying might be seen as rewarding talented players, which I think would not reflect the honor system super well.

well I mean there is also friendly if you want to honor sportsmanlike players as well. Also the honoring is based on you team and opponents, not your opinion. Don't matter how much you think you carried since other players decide and not your self.

Good idea in concept but it would get rewarded to smurfs way too often. Especially new players will be like 'wow that player is really good!' when he's been playing this game for 2-3 years longer than everyone else in the match. Not really worth honoring.

It's another thing though when a player is carrying/and also giving kills to your team at the same time, but often it's one player who's trying to solo the whole game and not helping the rest of his team at all except 'carrying'.

that could also be said about the smurfs who give out great advise because of their better game knowledge to compared to new players. Yet they only have that knowledge because they are smurfs. If someones smurfing for a easy honor badge well they probably have other issues. Especially when the honor is dependent on whether your teammates thinks you carried and not your self. Plus I believe Riot has systems in place to detect smurfs and keep them away from genuine new players.

I don't think this is a good idea imo, most games aren't won by a single person. In fact, no game is ever won by just 1 person. Match quality has to be pretty low if thats the case. Carrying is dead, teamwork thrives.

Useless. Almost no one uses the honor system anymore. How many players do you see in a game session who actually have a honor ribbon? I bet it's around none to one at most. Adding another category would just clutter the already shitty system and make it harder for players to get the already existing ribbons. Plus, I don't see what's honorable about carrying a game, usually someone carrying got either fed early or got a lucky kill streak, there's nothing honorable about that.

Agreed. Teamwork is too broad of a honor to give out as it could apply to any number of things, and it doesn't quite tell you what this person did other than they somehow helped to win a game or make a play.

Teamwork feels more along the lines that our cooperation, synergy, and mind set is what led to victory where getting carried feels more like someone's exceptional performance was a noticeable factor of the victory or in the difficulty of the enemy team winning.
