Tristana's Jump?

[If this is not in the right board, please tell me]

Isn't Tristana's skill where she jumps suppose to dodge things? Because every time I use it to dodge another champs move, I get hit by it instead. How is a move where it's obviously on the ground hit me when she's in the air? Tristana

It is considered to be a dash, not a leap. She still gets hit by anything aimed for her, it only affects her once she lands again. If someone shoots a targeted ability at her, then she jumps, it will hit her and affect her afterwards.

Tristana has an ancient kit, and the internals show it.

In particular, the mechanics of W are quite strange. It looks like an arcing jump, but it's implemented as a linear dash. It has a cast time, and if a CC spell lands on her during the cast time, it will take effect at the end of her jump. However, if the CC spell is landed on her during the dash animation, then she'll be affected on the spot. This causes some hilarious confusion with things like Blitzcrank hooks or Morgana bindings.

Expect a significant mechanical cleanup when they do get around to reworking her.

It looks like a jump, it's treated like a dash. If you want to dodge something, then don't let it near you, trying to jump it won't work.
