Attack speed cap

So, as a fan of KogMaw and his brief foray into breaking the attack speed cap (I miss you machine gun puppy), I was curious what everyone things of the attack speed cap. 2.5 attacks per second is quite generous, and I mostly was curious how the community (the boards community that is) felt about champs that could go above the 2.5 cap (probably not to 5 again, at least not on a ranged champ [rip machine gun pup]).

People at 2.5 attack speed already look pretty silly cycling through through attack animation in the blink of an eye, so it might be objectionable aesthetically.

Also, balancing on-hit items with a single AS cap is far more feasible, since otherwise you're going to have a bunch of on-hit items that are ok for the normal user but OP for the above cap sorts, or ok for the above cap people but lackluster for everyone else.

I can't vote on mobile for some reason.

I say break it.

Give melees a cap of 3.0, and some ranged champions the ability to go above 2.5.

I think its fine the way it is. Most champions dont even reach 2.5 Attack speed unless youre playing Kayle/Kog.

And back when Kog was able to get 6 attack speed, it was cancer. Legit died in 1 second, baron would die in 20 seconds.

The problem is pretty much onhits. They'd have to do like, 10% damage flat-out and literally just ride on onhits. If they can ride onhits, they automatically open up Guinsoo's and Bork, and if they can swing a use for the AP they can introduce Nashor's for 20% CDR as well as the onhit and as. The issue is just that 'onhits' are kind of a weird thing right now, and overclocking AS really can't really come with the kind of implications regular attack damage would.

Still, I 100% support trying new ideas. Riot needs to get the fuck out of whatever this garbage meta is.

think AS cap should be 1.5. attack speed can be toxic. actually it is toxic. I will explain it

We have to champions. champion A has 2.0 attack speed and 100 AD

Champion B has 1.0 attack speed and 200 AD.

in simple evaulation. they both have the same dps? correct. thats simple . they both do 200 damage per second. However. here is when things get interesting. logically

Champion A will land more autos than champion B. which means. the autos that Champion B doesn't land is missed damage. nobody is ever sitting next to you leaving u free auto. at least most of the time. you always lose target. but

Champion A is more likely to land more than 1 auto in a trade. effects like lifesteal red buff benefit much more in that case. also. it becomes difficult to all in a champion that doesn't really have a window of weakness

a 2.0 attack speed 100AD champion has 0.5 seconds of no-dps. a 1.0 200AD champion has 1 entire second where they aren't doing trade damage lifestealing etc you name it.

there is a lot more outplay potential you have against low attack speed more ad target

HOWEVER on the other Side. that makes the game less snowbally and less punishing from behind. BECAUSE crit and AS and ad is so tired together. YOU NEED a lot of attack speed to be relevant as an adc (most of them). but if AD mattered more. that would be less needed stats to be effective. an AD with just an AD item would be more effective than an adc that needs to have attack speed and an ad item to dps.

obviously to change those things. the game has to change a lot and I think the ship has sailed on that.

2 i would love to see it yet hate it too.. imagine yasuo q and e.. he would like q,basic,e,basic,q,basic.q then r ur dead within 5 secounds of battle and with a sheen on him well id hate to face him in any lane.. his cd scale's on attackspeed and his attackspeed added with crit damage and chance.. he'd be fucking cancer for real vs anything but tank.. and against tank he'd still be a pain.. the only worse thing would be an adc kennen.. imagine being stunned every 3rd hit and at that attackspeed he could like use q-w almost forever since each restore 25 stamina.. on arurf he'd be a perma stunner champ he is already hard enough to face as apc with little extra attack speed.. let me put it like this i did, basic+q+w=stun. basic q-w=stun. vs amumu and yi... i killed both of them 6 times each almost before dying once.. and that was only because i overstayed at low hp and got ganked by mid who could 1 shot me becs i had 200 hp or less.. but fuck of all the crap on 5.0 speed id say tryndamere r=1 tower lost per r at full build or atleast a close on at normal/ranked game imagine how fast arurf would be over then?..
