Guys, it's simple

If you spend the entire game flaming your team, if you spend every chance to get to tell them how bad they are, you're going to get reported. It's not rocket science, it's not some fantastic 1 in a trillion odds about it, you're going to get reported. With that being so, why does it baffle people after a game when they get reported. I see so many games like this, where at post-game chat the person being reported is confused. "Who reported me, lil %%%%" "Some idiot reported me" "Which feeding sack-o-shit reported me" These are just 3 that I've personally witnessed. League, I love you, but your player base is confusing.

The strange thing is, they seem to have no idea that flaming their teammates ISN'T going to help them play better. In fact it's the opposite. If I fail a gank and my top starts mocking me constantly, that doesn't exactly give me the motivation to try harder lol.

@ your title: http://www.quickmeme.com/img/54/54ee69cf65871207ee73500bb56bfa2d4ff9d0cd343f8a946722a59e215d9943.jpg

Addressing your question: it baffles people who are toxic when they're reported because they don't see their behavior as toxic. Rather, they see their behavior as acceptable and the sentiments of the community as sensitive. Thus, "your recent behavior isn't in line with how most League of Legends players act".
