The old 3v4 bans debate

I'm normally not one to bring back old discussions that have been beaten over the head by an army of raging nerds with sticks but I tried out Heroes of the Storm and they had a unique twist to their picks and ban phase. Mainly in competitive play they pick some bans then pick some champions then the last ban picks and then the last champion picks. I was thinking that spiting up when bans happen would add a lot of depth to competitive play while promoting diversity for LOL. The pick and ban phase would look like this:

Team A | Team B 1 Ban | 1 Ban 1 Ban | 1 Ban 1 Champ | 2 Champ 2 Champ | 1 Ban 1 Ban | 1 Ban 1 Ban | 2 Champ 2 Champ | 1 Champ

We now get 4 bans but can start playing mind games about what to pick next. If 2 bans are thrown at the mid laner do you prioritize a mid lane pick now before the next round of bans? If you don't will they completely lock out your mid laner's champ pool? Will that pick give away your team comp? How much can Team B tell about Team A's comp after they have 3 champs? Do they need to change the ban they were planning for new ones?

Lots of depth now plus we would likely see all kinds of new champions in both competitive play and normal play.

Let's hope Riot implements it. I love watching LCS and the games I enjoy the most are ones where they go for off meta picks (which then become meta of course). I think we would see a lot more of that with this format.
