The new support items favour full damage supports so hard

They go full damage, outscale every other support(tank or enchanter), generate more gold through kills and waveclear.

Meanwhile I only get 50 gold per assist in teamfights and no gold from minions.

Just last match I was on a 6-7-21 and the 8-14-15 had 1.5k gold more.

She had 2 kills more, I had 6 assists more and 6 CS.

This is one of the reasons is broken. She just outscales every other support and turns into a carry cuz she can easily generate gold after laning phase. That and the fact her early is strong for how her late game is.

"Support" and "waveclear" This is when you know its low elo.

Did she get shutdown gold? How many plates did she take? Did she het 1st tower gold? How many towers she took?

That can explain more gold.

Engage supports like nautilus are still the strongest supports in the game right now.

You do realize that you actually got less gold because you took longer to quest, and relic shield tiers have never loaded gold as fast as a spellthief, even now (Minion cooldown is just too long).

Anywho..... Nautilus is still one of the top 10 supports in the game, and 4 of the top 10 are enchanters. It means you're bad.

Yes and no.

What you say is true, but they also need more expensive items to be as useful.

Compare the average support build to the average "sUpPoRt" build. (no particular order)

item 3850 item 3158 item 3107 item 3174 item 3222 item 3504 vs item 3020 item 3151 item 3089 item 3135 item 3157

9900 vs 13750 for full builds. 13150 if they take the stopwatch rune. Tank support builds are more like item 3858 item 3111 item 3050 item 3109 item 3190 item 3083 Which is 11000. A bit more cost, but still well under mageports. And you tend to get more assists since you can force kills about as easily if not easier than mages.

Since proper supports need less gold they don't suffer late game because their builds are mostly finished. However mageports benefit more from the faster upfront scaling since they use the stats better. Kind of a wash really...

Also 2 kills 6 assists is only worth 900g assuming no bounty/reverse bounty modifications. Where else did she get it?
