Next champion is not gonna be support or adc

It has only been 2 year since Riot released a support champion who is somewhat viable in SoloQ.

Let's make that 3 and wonder why nobody plays support.

EDIT: Here we go with the brainless downvote bandwagon again

Can you read? I said VIABLE IN SOLOQ. He's currently sitting at 47% win rate and even lower without Xayah. He's complete trash without her.

He is viable in SoloQ when you can play him.

Dokkaebi1 votes

Talk to me again when you have played him more than once.

That's not my account. You can obviously tell because we've argued against each other, have different writing styles and different opinions.

I don't have to play him because I have seen other players play him and perform very well with him, in both my and the enemy team.

Maybe it's just that you are bad on him idk.

Dokkaebi1 votes

Maybe. If you consider 75% win rate bad.

then what's your problem

He's trash without the extended range on his E with Xayah. Riot needs to release a support champion who doesn't force your adc to play a certain champion.

Define "viable for soloqueue." If you mean "should be 50% on first few games" I disagree. The older supports were often more pick up and ranked for their skillfloor, whereas the new ones you need games on them to do well. I don't see anything wrong with that. It's a necessary part of removing the support stigma and expressing skill as a support player.

In what part of his kit does he exactly need skill?

It's funny how someone who has propably never played Rakan tries to explain how he works to a Rakan main.

http://championmasterylookup-derpthemeus.rhcloud.com/summoner/?summoner=WaningSn0w&region=NA I nearly got to mastery 4 on Rakan within a few days of his release, before the Q tweaks (back then it sucked so bad as a skill) I've had school/work obligations since then so yeah he's not lvl 6 or 7 yet, plus it's my alt acc so...

A lot of his power is tied to holding back and waiting for the best opportunity to go in, while his VO constantly eggs you on. He has many animation cancels which lower a lot of counterplay once players get use to them.
So yeah, I'd love to talk Rakan with you. I think he's great.

Oh, neat Yeah well I think he's great, but if you play him with a random adc who doesn't have Xayah, he's not that strong. I think the E range reduction hits him too hard. And it's not fun when either the adc or support is forced to take a certain champion. I think the only reason his win rate is so high is because of duo players who DuoQ together like he's intended to do. But I don't personally think he's viable if you solo.

LostFr0st1 votes

I think they should just remove the Xayah indicator when she's not there honestly... it gets annoying. His best partner is probably Lucian; even a mediocre Lucian is better than a base Xayah regardless of the buffs they get with eachother. I'll take a Lucian over a Xayah most times for that reason. I'd even consider waiting 'till they've locked in their AD before hovering Rakan.

Idk if the duo would boost or nerf the WR tbh. Duos are such a cointoss... Maybe the increased E range is buffering the duos' mess ups a bit?

When I see someone put an edit in like this its just so irresistible to downvote. Just a heads up.

Does Ivern count as a support?

I mean I know technically he's a jungler, but he basically plays like a second support anyway. Literally all of his abilities are for supporting the team in some way, and if you really want to, he CAN be played as an actual support.

Dokkaebi1 votes

He doesn't really work as support, since most of his power budget is in his jungle clear and the ability to share buffs.
