I was watching one of Imaqtipie video and I saw a malphite losing to Talon, late game the malphite still dies to caitlyn. I don't see how a Tank can do well against that.
In which part do I see malphite tanking anything!? Isn't he suppose to counter AD? isn't he suppose to be a anti AD champion.

straight up counters 40 Lethality. Tanks are extremely strong against it. The issue is in the end game where people stack different types of % Penetration on top of Lethality

cost 1100 = 10 lethality
cost 800 = 40 armor
A chain vest can negate 2 full lethality items (15x2 = 30) + a dirk (10) for measly 800 gold.
Not even saying the lethality builds are very squishy and have no lifesteal, so if they cant instantly burst their target they will lose the fight/trade, and they wont burst tanks unless you're playing in bronze 5 and your malphite is actually rushing a deathcap.
