So because of Competitive play Ryze continues to get nerfed.
So, now riot actually hit him where he needed the nerf. The late game. But here is also another question that needs to be asked.
Do Solo/Duo players get anything from this?
According to NA.OP.GG. Less then .1% of players have a higher chance of a 50% win rate on Ryze.
Bronze Win Rate: 40.76%
Silver Win Rate: 42.56%
Gold Win Rate: 44.05%
Plat Win Rate: 44.92%
Diamond Win Rate: 46.36%
Masters: 49.07%
Challenger: 57.64%
Overall: 44.97%
So when this nerf actually hits him and makes him weaker across all players dropping his w/r by a bit more. @Meddler #meddler
Will we see minor damage buffs to make up for the damage lose or reverts to his shield? When He starts getting to release win rate of Taliyah?
Regardless of what you do; Ryze will not be able to be balanced. At a competitive level, he is good because of team work. At a solo level, he is trash because of lack of team work for 99% of the community in NA.
Only way to balance ryze is to rework him AGAIN or simply make his ulti less effective. Either make it so that he can only teleport X number of units. Meaning that he can't teleport that massive 14 minions + his team to another tower to take it. That cuts his effectiveness with his ulti by A LOT. Making the number something like 8 would be good; that still offers the team teleportation but limits how much tower taking potential is there. Further if you were to nerf his ulti with said lower max range at rank two and a higher range at rank one; it then requires him to position himself more dangerously.
TL:DR current problem with ryze is that he is a extremely high damaging champion with high team play potential. Problem with that statement is that; only full teams can take advantage of his high team play potential or higher elo players. Cutting his damage across the board does not fix the problem; it is simply saying "Heres a bandage until we know what the real problem is."
