With people claiming every single game they have an AFK!

You'd think by now the entire community would have a permanent lower priority Que. I guess I'm just luckier than most but I don't seem to get a huge amount of afk in my game. I get them from time to time but not like the majority of the boards posters claim. Do people just over exaggerate or am I truly that lucky?

IMO, it's psychological. Having a regular, full 5v5 is the norm and is what is expected. If something happens that derives from that norm (i.e. an AFK, a troll, a feeder), it will naturally stand out and will be that much more vivid in your memory, thus making it seem like it's happening way more often that it actually does (like one AFK every 15-20 games as opposed to it feeling like 3-4 every 10)

You are lucky. I've been extremely unlucky throughout my ranked games. I get an AFK or a troll in at least 3/10 games on average. And I have gotten 5 of them in a row before. I can never go 10 games without at least one of those. It seems less common at different times of the day, at least from my experiences I've had more AFKs and trolls late at night.

I only get them when I play ranked

But it's usually a list of

Afkerr? No? Troll/feeder/extremely toxic player= incoming

I usually have at least one of those when I play ranked, but that's why I only played ranked just enough to get the rewards, got gold 5 in about 30 games so I was set and didn't play any more ranked

I noticed that afk rates were much higher in lower elos on my smurf and incredibly prevalent in sub 30 games.

In plat, AFK's are very rare Silver, not uncommon sub 30, all over he place

whenever I play ranked and there is some "smurf" they don't care about the game they just want to do what they want to do and if they can't they'll troll/feed.

I usually get like 1 in 10-15 games 1 afk from the start then 1 in 8-10 games afk in middle

People who play extensive amounts of League remember negative experiences far more vividly than postive ones. Even if there is only an afk in 1/10 of their ranked games, it feels like it's every other game for them.

I believe it's one every other game, not always on your team. That is about 5% of the population being afk'ers, so you aren't exactly lucky, but the odds do play in your favor. 95% of the players aren't, so you could go 20 games without seeing one easily, then get one in every game for 4 or 5 games in a row, as that's how the odds should play out given the number of players in a game. Once again that afker may not always be on your team.

Or it's simply random? I don't think the game has anything to do with wether or not people choose to leave/afk. Hence it's hardly impossible to get leavers 10 times in a row even though it's unlikely. In that aspect it all just comes down to personal luck. Some people will have few leavers, some people will have loads. Simpla as that.

Confirmation bias.

Depends on your rating.

I don't get many AFKs on this account. I get an absurd number of AFKs on my smurf account.

in my last 100 normal games I got a flamer/leaver/troll/afker maybe 2 or 3 times, people over exaggerate allot
