Im really not seeing Kassadins damage, yet riot referred to him as a late game monster

This is taking into account all of the games that I've played with him since season 4 (omg so far back nr). But Ive never done much damage as him and im including games where I've been 27/x/x or such. I love the whole anti mage playstlye that he has, But he's "feels like" he has less burst than say, Ekko (who was described upon release that his playstyle was to wittle his enemies down which he does do, but none the less I can see the burst difference between an early 4/0 Ekko and what i just was until realizing just how much gold the enemy Caitlyn, Chogath being chogath, etc as a 4/0 - 4/x Kassadin. Is he just not a bursty assassin? Or does he need a buff of some sort? He feels fair in lane both playing as and fighting against ( playing as Kat vs Kass, however, is the most powerless I've ever felt) But his snowballing just feels really weak in comparison to the other assassins. Even galio another anti mage type champion (completely differnt playstyle though admittedly) snowballs alot better it seems. I dont know is it just me or is Kassadin actually just as strong as the other champions in his "category" and I'm just underestimating him? I must admit his mobility lategame is amazing, but even with that, the lack of actually burst damage which i would expect from an assassin in general makes me feel otherwise.

Beeing a lategame monster isn't about raw burst, even though a well played kassasdin has plenty of that come to lategame. He has not the same burst that most other assasins pack, but it's still high and has next to no downtime. The thing that makes him a lategame monster is that ontop of quite high damage, his entire output is 100% reliable and he has a shit ton of mobillity aswell as some defense. It is extremly easy for kassadin to get to the targets he wants aswell as to get away when he doesn't want a fight. The abillity to choose all your fights as you wish is extremely powerfull if used correctly, just as the abillity to fast move across the map or unload 100% reliable burst from a good distance.

He is a late game monster. Does nothing in lane unless fed but his R pretty much one shots squishies past like 4 items.

His damage comes in waves unless he's exceptionally fed. Usually, he's not going to be able to 1 shot someone (unless he's really snowballing). But because his ultimate gains more damage the more you use it, the goal is to jump in, do a lot of damage, Zhonya's, jump out, wait for more cooldowns, then jump back in and kill your targets.

Though I really only play him in ARAM's it helps if you know his W resets his auto attacks and how to weave in AA's in general to get the most out of item 3100

It's comparable to playing as Riven and knowing how to use her passive vs blowing all of your spells and missing out on a bunch of free damage.

So then I have to Riftwalk to get to someone I'm losing alot of damage then aren't I?

League isn't about raw damage, it is a game based on range and mobility. Kassidin's mobility is what makes him so strong lategame.

But why does mobility make (ex. champion) strong i really don't understand that. From what I'm thinking you mean i would say mobility would be good for split pushing or something but Kassains waveclear is kind of crap?
