You know something About dota 2 towers?

KONO RUBICK DA··101 votes·7,748 views

their damage are low as fuck, but they don't fall in 5 seconds untill 40 min+ in the game. Right now even a mage can take a tower so fast, why did you removed towers armor? that was the worst change you ever done to towers. they now fall at 8 min in the game. PLEASE consider to buff them.

why does red buff works on towers,?

edit: a lot of people aren't understanding this thread, i didn't say that this game is dota 2, but rather that riot failed to patch the tower since a lot of time

You're asking riot to buff towers? the community asked this every time and riot keeps nerfing them you're expecting them to buff them rofl.

Wait...

We ask tower to be buffed, then they get nerfed

What if we ask to nerf towers?

Hawkefire16 votes

They would nerf the towers, because rito logic.

Ace Access 17 votes

maybe we should ask riot to nerf them then they may buff towers, since they keeping nerfing them when we ask for buffs

Riot has almost only ever buffed towers. Patch 5.22 had a bug in it which took out the armor+mr which was meant to scale up over time to make towers incredibly more tanky than before. Lazer turrets do much more DPS than a standard tower, but the community acts like it does less. The tower shield buff was broken and removed because it basically killed split pushing and sieging which is why last season was such a teamfight meta. Other tower buffs have included towers targetting quicker and completing their attack no matter what(end of season 4), towers taking reduced damage for the first few minutes of the game(mid season 4 I think?), and towers gaining much more armor without any minions around.

At the beginning of season 4 you could literally walk up to inhib towers with a split pusher and no minions and solo it with 80% of your health remaining. It was common to take two inhibs+inhib towers with your tank not even taking any damage if you out-rotated your opponent.

The "community" is basically every rager on the forum than got outplayed on a tower dive and came to complain. Riot always buffs towers

You obviously haven't play a Pusher champion, because Shadow Shaman eats them towers for breakfast! Broodmother, Pugna, Techies... they fall when unprotected pretty damn fast!

Also, early game though, Dota towers hit a lot harder than League towers while still being divable by certain heroes.

those are pushing heroes, they are pros in this field, yep strength/weakness

Meep Man4 votes

Well, I usually dont see towers falling in my games before the 10 min mark unless the laner gets killed twice in a row. Pusher champs in Dota can kill towers while the enemy is still in the lane.

i thought that dota 2 towers had less damage no? i mean everyone is saying this but i never played the game tho.

Auz the Ripper2 votes

They deal alot less damage per shot, but they fire at a significantly high rate and have a much longer range so they tend to be more punishing

Sightless663 votes

More punishing.... nah.

Not only is their relative DPS significantly lower than League towers, but they also won't target you until you right click an ally, and you can deaggro them onto allied creeps at any time you want. They're really not punishing at all.

I can 100 - 0 towerdive someone at level 3 in Dota. Couldn't do that in League unless something almost miraculiously stupid happened.

Sightless667 votes

They have a lower DPS, and their aggro rules work in a very exploitable way. So long as you have creeps, the tower won't start targeting you unless you autoattack the enemy hero (or unless you're the closest thing autoattacking the tower). You can nuke them with spells all you like and nothing bad will happen to you. Even if you do draw aggro, you can drop it by trying to autoattack one of your own creeps. Towerdiving is so much easier.... well, assuming no one on the enemy team responds to it.

The real threat Dota 2 towers pose is as TP locations. Damage is a secondary function.

Meep Man1 votes

They have lower DPS, but have a higher attack speed so if they begin to target you, they will always get one attack off and on average 2.

Sightless661 votes

Yeah, but that's only really relevant for the "I accidentally stepped into tower range" scenario (and to be fair, they are about equal to League's towers there). For purposeful dives, the fact that their damage doesn't ramp up at all for successive shots, they don't have any armor penetration, and they can be easily retargeted onto other allies or your minions means that they end up being way weaker if someone is diving you. It's the jackass Lion teleporting in to CC you, drain all your mana and then finger you to death that you have to fear when you're diving.

Axis the Dragon1 votes

I haven't seen a TP ganker more obnoxious than Lion, but man, Enigma comes close. TP in, stunlock, D&D, eidolon a minion, ult, and you're dead (unless you get BKB, but that's not something people usually rush)

Also not as much as a TP ganker as he is a pure ganker, but my god, Io with Ursa is a nightmare.

Sightless661 votes

Well, if he's ulting you and using eidolon damage, BKB certainly isn't going to help. Magic immunity is feeble against the power of black holes. Useful against Malefice though.

Io Ursa can certainly be a terror, but it's the Io Tiny that always gives me headaches.

Axis the Dragon1 votes

Yeah that's what I mean

BKB can avoid Malefice which makes landing Black Hole that much harder (especially if you're someone slippery like PA)

Idk if it's just me but Io Tiny always seems to lack damage to me. Idk. Maybe it's because I'm used to playing Axe, so I don't suffer much from that combo and turn it around pretty easily with a well-placed Taunt xP

Anidan1 votes

Most of the time I see Axe get torn apart by an Io+Tiny gank. QW from Tiny and the Spirits from Io do some pretty heavy damage paired with Tiny's high base damage and Io's attack speed increase.

Axis the Dragon1 votes

I suppose. In my defense, though, I play gank/roam Axe, so I tend to pick up kills here and there before anyone really builds any major ticket items.

That being said, I play with low level scrubs like me, so I think it's because everyone sucks at my level. xD

Robbit Mang2 votes

their damage is quite pitiful. In dota 2 carries like adc's actually gain armor per level and become quite tanky to physical damage later, as well as the turrets do not have ramping damage or armor penetration. Meanwhile, they are a gigantic obstacle and a tier 1 turret (as an average non pusher champion) may take you up to 5 creepwaves to kill if the enemy leaves it unattended. Compare to turrets in league where you can take an unattended turret with 1-2 creepwaves as any champ. It's just that in any decent elo trying to take an unattended turret is met with 2+ teleports immediately and you push is killed, so the games tend to stall until a teamfight happens or something and people die.

Rysophage8 votes

riot wants 10 minute games. oh well.

Enchanté1 votes

it's because of people who tried to play a match between their 20 minute free time. People complain how a lot of them AFK if they had to go, so riot gave us 10 minute game. (a.k.a "reducing" the number of AFK)

and those bronze tower dives "omg tower so OP nerf plz"

Narasimha8 votes

Well, yeah. DotA 2 towers HAVE to be tanky because of the actual split pushing potential heroes have there. You think Trynd is back? Wait until you see Furion.

Dota towers shoot at the closest enemy

ItsStout1 votes

Yes. They also dont prioritize champions, so they can switch to you even if there are minions and you didnt hit enemies. At least, it used to be like that.

when i started dota 2 i thought that sniper could backdoor without losing hp

but there is an anti-backdoor system, so sniper is just like an other carry when it comes to pushing

Remlap12233 votes

I think a better example would be Smite's towers. They tickle, even at level one, but not even attack speed based hunters like Apollo can take them down particularly easily. It's not even that they don't fall easily, it's just that a single god isn't going to be able to dunk a tower single-handedly with little effort. Hunters like Artemis and Apollo can take a tower down, but so can a mage like Kukulkan. There isn't a gigantic discrepency.

Meanwhile the gap between Karma and Tristana's tower taking abilities are night and day. Even though that towers are made of paper mache in this game, Karma has no attack damage. Meanwhile one EQ on a tower with half finished build and Tristana starts breaking towers like she just came from the flash game Crush the Castle.

Honeslty, at this point, keeping the fortification buff all game seems to be the only way to keep towers meaningful. However, that would be extremely punishing to mages, who are already in an extremely bad spot right now.

i agree that if someone die he should be punished, but let the enemy be able to push to inhibitor for dying once in the first 5 min...Thnx Rito for Paper turrets

there better then these 25 30 min stomp fests that are going on. It was fine before. These changes are infuriatiing. I think ive reached late game build 4 times in my last 20 games.

Partholonian1 votes

Yes. All the games I have enjoyed the most have been long and hard-fought. Short games are unsatisfying. Surrenders at 20 are the worst, and there's actually a thread asking Riot to lower the surrender timer rather than fixing the issues that lead people to want to surrender at 15.

I don't think anyone is asking for a 50 min average game time (not even me), but there shouldn't be 5+ towers dead at 15 minutes either or people feeling they're so far behind it doesn't matter what they do anymore.

Silents4291 votes

It would be neat if it was constantly over exaggerated on the time towers are taken down, the average game length only went down by about 2 minutes this pre season.

The only reason games ending so drastically sooner is perceived as a widespread issue is because it's being used as an excuse for losing your games now from stomps.

BluePolarizer2 votes

a challenger pro, scarra, has said that the game is so stompy and the masteries so OP right now, he cannot even properly evaluate balance at this point.

I'm a plat and I agree with him.

Silents4291 votes

Who cares what he thinks other then a sheeplike fanbase?

We can have challengers who disagree with him and it won't make a difference, everyone is experiencing the game differently, but the majority of people are doing just fine.

BluePolarizer2 votes

scarra is a pro (i.e. actually gets paid to play league) and was head coach of CLG. that means his game knowledge is better than most challengers since he is in charge of formulating strategy. He didn't rise because of mechanics alone like many challenger one trick ponies.
