i'll tell you the real truth about this meta

yeah, supports are broken that's quite true, janna is broken right now but who broke them? support themselves? non-fcking sense

adcs are the one who broke supports

ardent? that shit was fine a couple of patches ago everything was fine as long as adcs weren't broken themselves

then riot nerfed tank itemization destroying juggernauts, buffed IE and other shit, buffed adcs so hard because adc mains were 6 years old and now? it's cancer

yes i'm a support main, i'm blitz/thresh only player no i don't find janna'S KIT broken, it is the same it used to be months ago when ardent was considered balanced. nobody gave a shit about ardent when assassins were fine, nobody cared about what ardent did, and because you cried so hard and now you can outduel a zed, ardent is broken and needs to be gutted to make the game better

all of this wouldn't have happened in the first place if we didn't nerf assassins+nerfed bruisers+buffed tanks+buffed adcs+nerfed caster adcs at the same time

but you think you can band aid this game by nerfing ardent? just wait and see if marksmen will finally be out of the meta once

Yeah preseason six threw reasonable balance out the window, favoring marksmen while nerfing anything that could challenge them; but ardent isn't the sole item that skewed the balance.

Redemption and knight's vow were overtuned bandaids, to the problem of supports being unable to survive long enough for impacting teamfights.

Phantom dancer was already a core item on most marksmen, and riot tacked on damage reduction to it ontop of a movement speed bonus for when someone gets close; making them able to kite and duel anyone that lacked an immediate gap closer or longer range.

Added a a mini-bloodthirster that has cooldown reduction and delays damage taken, allowing them to lifesteal through burst that would've killed them otherwise. Not to mention it's addition was spiteful against mages, as it allows them to heal off of abilities, when they already get massive heals from critical hits. Death's dance was a niche item until riot buffed it, mages had survivability until they deleted wota; neither were surprising.

Buffed other niche items by granting even more critical chance. I remember when a marksman had to choose if they wanted 100% criticals or some tactical options such as armor penetration or lifesteal, but that choice isn't a problem now. You can reach 100% in 4 items, and not even a specific set either, you can swap out a few as you like.

They also were given alternatives of several items to assist them. Want to chunk multiple enemies at a time, pick up hurricane or static shiv. Want to shred tanks, now you can with excessive force or sustain removal. Want to drain your way through any encounter, five items to choose from, each with different extra effects. Want to counter mages, you can deny their crowd control or have a backup shield without sacrificing offensive power. Want to play as a hit and run champion, rapidfire cannon and phantom dancer can help with that.

The essence reaver was a rarely seen item as it was a counterpart to manamune, restoring a meager percentage of mana on every auto-attack; but was changed to only work off of critical hits, and grant more cooldown reduction based on your critical hit chance, making it the only item that can bring 30% cdr by itself! Normally wouldn't be a problem except that said patch also reworked several marksmen to give them some safety ability.

i want to stress this part.

they recently buffed crit items. adc being as retarded as they are doesnt only come from the fact that support items in their design favour them. (though its part of the problem)

its not even just the recent buffs. adc itemization has power creeped over the years in cost reductions and additional defenses added without removing offense to compensate.

it used to be that adc were forced to build 4 ad/crit/attack speed items + zerkers + 1 defensive item to be effective.

now that they have added so much defensive shit on marksmen items, they can get away without sacrificing an item slot for survivability.

This entire season has been centred around balancing for the ADC class, and I'm done with the favouritism.

The fact that supports and support items are being scapegoated for it is unhinged. While yes, censer IS a factor, to pretend that alone is THE single most, biggest issue is insane. Nothing will change.

I prefer this mechanically intensive "group and protect the carry" ADC meta than the fucking retard "press everything and the fastest in the West wins" assassin meta that we had before, a thousand times. God bless.

The number 1 problem of this game isnt imbalance anymore, the real issue is that every marksman can build full AD and become an hypercarry without sacrificing anything. To really fix that you need to either nerf AD (so it stops being the only hypercarry stat), nerf range advantage (even by reworking some champions) or buff Ap/magic damage users (so they can compete with AD in terms of carrying or at least bring something truly unique to the table besides forcing tanks to build that one green item we all know and love). Nerfing marksmen numbers wont do anything except fucking everything once again.

Yeah, it's almost like we never got to see how OP it was because Redemption and Locket were even more OP. Even then support mains were claming those weren't broken when they clearly were.

I see posts like this and I wonder "what kind of matches are they hoping for?" It's like these boards want Garen bot with Malph support to be meta. I think I like what Riot is doing better and I wish they'd cater to these boards less.
