Plat V is the worst thing I've ever experienced

So, last month I went from Silver 3 to Plat 5 in less than a few weeks and when I got to plat 5 my mmr was around plat 3. Since being in plat 5 my mmr has dropped to gold 4. Yes you read that correctly. i find it hard to believe my skill level dropped that far in less than a couple weeks. What I can say is that the players I've been matched with have been the worst in terms of skill level and toxicity I've ever experienced. It's like entering the 3rd grade after graduating high school. I just had a game with a guy who locked zac top with no champ mastery and only 2 games played and fail to know how to use his q. We lost our teir 2 top tower in about 15 minutes. Not saying I can win every game but come on, the inability to play even decent at this level baffles me. I think I might just stop playing ranked to retain my rank and play normals till the end of the season. I've read a lot about how plat 5 is toxic and stuff but you don't read as much about the lack of skill and basic game knowledge some people have here. It atrocious. And no I didn't "get lucky" and now I'm borderline demotion - I am actually good at the game. But tbh these teamates are really bad. I'm not saying its always my teamates fault but you don't get plat 3 mmr without being half decent. So I have to ask myself is it me or my teamates? And when I look at my performance up to this point I truly feel like its my teams... Idk maybe there is truth to the saying "my teams are holding me back" sometimes. I feel very unlucky.
