I feel that he needs one his kit is completely unhealthy his q and passive are fine but his orange barrels and ultimate are so bs and if hes ever strong riot makes sure to gut him like I don't see how he doesnt need one

dakota saturn1 votesI'll take this iteration over the original GP where he could execute his own minions, which meant he could always freeze the wave at his turret, forcing you to be in gank range, and also denying you at least 1 cs per wave, minimum. He also gained extra gold, so he always, no matter what, had the gold advantage in lane.
That was awful, and I'll take this iteration of him any day.
MLDzXnRRR1 votesGP is a champion that plays around a gimmick - his E. He is pretty bad vs long ranged champions or champions that can instantly remove his barrels like Lucian. They nerfed his whole kit after the rework, so they can keep the barrels minigame. You had to complain about him when he was permabanned just 1 year ago, now he is even weak, unless the GP knows what he is doing or the enemy team is clueless about the barrels.
Flaherty1 votesFor sure he's not as strong has he once was but I would hardly call him weak. If you are really familiar with the timing of his barrel hp ticks you can easily explode them before a ranged enemy can. Plus he still has great global pressure and an extremely safe laning phase

I used to play him pre-rework and I can tell you that he was stronger back then compared to what we have now after all these nerfs. But he was not reliable at all. His laning phase is Ok, just because of the mind games with barrels. Noone likes to take damage for free, but if the enemy actually decides to all-in you, tanking some barrel shots, you can't fight back vs anyone. It's actually funny when 0-3 Rengar that feeds you from lvl 1 and has to go with full tank items, so he doesn't feed anymore 100--0 you after some levels...
Flaherty1 votesI also played him before his recent changes and yes he was stronger 1v1 in some cases but he was garbage in most others with his unreliable ult and shit utility with Raise Morale. You can fight back against a lot of enemies surprisingly well except very early game before you can get more gold than your opponent. Keeping a barrel on yourself to slow and damage anyone who tries to all in you might not win trades but will keep you from dying in most cases until you can buy more items than them with all the extra gold you should have.
Lugg1 votesHe has a good kit, it's just that the barrels are probably the most OP ability in the entire game. They need to remove or reduce the armor pen on them and GP would be MUCH healthier.
