Discontinue Queue Bans! In-Lobby Reporting Instead!

Why should I be banned from joining a queue when I did nothing wrong? Your server acts up when I'm in champion select- I'm clicking "Lock In" and nothing happens.. The "Lock In" button just re-appears.. Then the lobby drops and I'm banned from joining queue. Not to mention- there is no real benefit from banning a person from a queue. They're a troll? Well they're going to troll the next queue too- so why postpone the idiocy?

The obvious solution- IN QUEUE REPORTING. If someone deserves the "queue ban", then allowing them the chance to troll a new queue isn't a solution- as I noted before.. Simply allow players to report the troll before the game starts- and that troll gets removed.

You're probably asking yourself: But isn't that the same as a 'queue ban'? Yes and No. Yes- The player will be unable to join queues for some time. No- The player must be recognized, by other players, as hostile, trolling, or simply antagonistic.

If this were put into place- then people simply 'lagging' or experiencing some difficulties won't be punished simply for a script reading error, etc. That's dual-sentencing. Now I face the consequence of a game that doesn't run properly 100% of the time- and the consequence of a time-out because of the former consequence. Meanwhile, people who just want to troll will wait the 5 or so minutes and troll the next lobby.

Furthermore- those people who do 'dodge' are most likely avoiding trolls, and malintended players. Had there been an option of reporting the troll, and that report immediately kicked the player with enough support from other players, then a good person doesn't have to be punished for avoiding the punishment of a bad game due to trolling.

Unless Riot likes the trolls. Which doesn't seem far-fetched at this point.. considering this alternative has been suggested multiple times. What are you worried about? A person getting wrongfully kicked? How is that possible. Democracy is only reasonable in such situation. If the rest of the team are trolls- they want a troll game. Let them have it.

There are no downsides to this alternative. Stop the queue bans. It's getting ridiculous.

I like this idea, but it raises a few questions. First, what if the majority are friends / trolls themselves? How do they get banned in que by the voice of one or two summoners? Next, what would stop a group of trolls using this to their distinct advantage in order to continually troll and time people out of their games?

Well, I kind of tackled this issue. If at least 3 people are trolling- it's a troll team. They can troll on their own team. Let them kick you. I didn't note it in my post, but if you're making a report- there should still be report categories. That way, punishment depends on the nature of the report. Perhaps you just get put in a new lobby, instead of the queue ban- or the report just fails all together.

I like idea myself, however I (highly) doubt this would take place, reason be that Riot prefers summoners to play their own style, so an off-Meta summoner desides to play, idk, Irelia support, your team may say they are trolling and have that person on queue ban. Well Congrats, that person was punished because the team did not want a certain champ to be played in a certain lane. They may even have the most experience with that champion and it could of worked out well.

Or as the previous person said: what if the majority of the team is a group of trolls? Or if the top laner picks mid lane's preferred champ?

There are too many possible ways for it to back-fire.

Hopefully the issue of errors, timeouts, and faults in their client will be gone when the new client is released. All I can say is that we probably just have to wait it out.

That's reasonable, though. If a team doesn't feel comfortable with an Irelia support, then they should have the safeguard against it. If there was 'in-lobby' reporting, there would have to be a category like regular reporting. The punishment should fit the crime, therefore the Irelia support might just get kicked out of that lobby and matched to a new one.

To be honest, that would not play out well. You'll be essentially turning draft and ranked into team builder, actually a scaled down team builder, because instead of kicking one person, you'll be removing all 10, and thats not to say how many times it'll go on.
