So, I'ma give some early feedback on those upcoming PBE Aatrox adjustments.

4/10 PBE Update: Skin Tweaks, Galaxy Slayer Zed Login Theme, & More

TL;DR: Not bad, but still needs a chunk of refining (and other changes to the spells they haven't bothered touching) to make him better in soloqueue but not as strong in pro. This was posted towards the bottom of the S@20 page for today's changes. I get these might not possibly ship, but i'm still giving my thoughts on them.

[3] Umbral Dash (E) [RETURNED] :: Now has 2 charges, from 1 [RETURNED] :: Cooldown between casts to 3/2.5/2/1.5/1 [RETURNED] :: Charge cooldown to 22/19/16/13/10 [4] World Ender (R) Cast time :: .5 >>> .25 Revive Self Slow :: 25% >>> 99% Revive Heal:: 10-50% Max HP >>> 30% Max HP [NEW] :: Now also fears enemy champions on cast for 1 second [5] [NEW] :: Aatrox now only revives if he gets a takedown during World Ender [NEW] :: Takedowns extend World Ender by 5 seconds, reset The Darkin Blade (Q)'s cooldown, and add 1 charge of Umbral Dash (E)

So, i'll break down my feedback by spell. E change now makes it that he can mechanically function again. Still nothing about changing his healing still. R though is an issue due to the revive change (the fear champions thing is kinda nice along with the cast time reduction). I get you are trying to do something about the free GA because of pro but this is a bit too much. I liked the change where he healed for healing he got during World Ender when either it ended or he took lethal damage. The takedown mechanic could simply just Reset Q and add duration, the giving a e charge is iffy to me. This change as it stands might actually make him worse in soloqueue than he already is, especially that 99% self slow. Jesus christ, that means as soon as you die and revive you are practically good as dead, having no shot of countering or retaliating. I'll accept it if some better changes came through for other stuff on the kit.

If i'ma say my piece on these changes, of course i'd make my own recommendations to fix the issue.

  1. Remove Q1 and speed up Q speed towards the end of the cast. Cant mention enough the amount of times people have simply walked out of my Q by a pixel (and not getting hit) because of the overall slow speed. Instead of making it faster in general, making it faster towards the end makes it feel like there is more impact and helps us.
  2. Use Q1 to replace W and make it slow rather than knockup.
  3. Change healing to % of all damage Aatrox deals pre-mitigation. If this requires a % healing nerf so be it. I'd like to be able to use Conq without breaking my knees.
  4. Give Q more damage late game by getting rid of the bonus damage mechanic on Edge (just make it knock up people). This would allow us to not have to completely build full damage and be able to build like an actual juggernaut.
  5. Use the original R change (the healing at end of duration or lethal) and use the suggestion on the takedown mechanic, or he has to deal enough damage to get the revive and uses the suggested takedown mechanic. Either way current R mechanic change punishes pro and solo Aatrox more than helping as it stands right now.

Anyway, thats my thoughts and suggestions on the upcoming changes. What's your thoughts on these changes?

Buff his base stats . Its just ridiculous to know that there are some champions (ranged champions) that are tankier and have more HP than Aatrox does just because he has a revive .

If the revive is the most problematic thing , than remove it and buff his base stats , after 3 yrs of playing this champ , i just dont care anymore about his revive cause it was always what kept him back and left him on the squishier side in terms of stats . Also , change his Q completely . I want to be a melee hard hitting juggernaut not a squishy hybrid zoner/poker that gets exploded by every thing .

Personally, I'm a fan of this change. The intention is for it to be Aatrox's "true form", where you go into a frenzy of killing, but most people use it as an emergency, "I'm about to die" button, get the revive, limp away, and reset.

This version is closer to that idea. You don't just get a free revive, you actually need to kill somebody to get it. The fear on-cast is what sells it for me. That's essentially a stun. You can jump in on somebody and stun them between casts of your Q or ensure they can't run away from your W. You get an AoE stun around you when you pop it, making it easier to line up your skillshots as you look for that kill and start snowballing.

Right, and case you forgot, it almost takes a full second just for Q1 to land, so not only will it not do full damage (you'd have to re-position it), but the fear would be done by then.
