Why does Riot even bother presenting it to us as a replacement for the current Zeke's?

I mean, it doesn't even fill the same niche, nor is it good on the champions current Zeke's is good on (rip j4 support). For all intents and purposes, its a completely different item that caters to a completely different audience. So can we at least acknowledge that new Zeke's isn't a proper replacement and come up with a REAL AD support item?

Old zeke's was shit, and there's no such thing as a decent AD support, let alone AD support items.

Except old Zekes was never bad, just under appreciated due to the fact that a majority of its power was in an aura.

So many lanes are kill lanes now.. for example even sona is a damn kill lane because everyone builds her sight stone (maybe) then straight ap... if j4 builds tanky with a zekes herald.. what's the big issue? Also zeke's was really gold efficient.

Its no different than Leona, Blitz, or Annie. Kill lane bots, for all intents and purposes, are still filling the "support" position, with the least gold income, so the itemization needs to support them.

funily enough, even in a kill-lane somebody has to be the support and care about warding the map/doing well with less gold. And J4 can do that very well, even if the lane doesnßt snowball ( a lot better than an annie that falls behind).

both statements are ludicrously wrong - just because you have no idea how to play ad-support doesn´t mean it´s bad. Just leave it to the guys that know what they´re doing. If you think it´s bad - then there´s no harm done if someone still has the option to pick it against you, or is there?

I don't think it's meant to be a replacement at all. I'm pretty sure the reason that it still has "Zeke" in its name is due to the refer-a-friend program, and Zeke was someone who got enough referrals. Because of that, Zeke needs to have an item named after them. When they wanted to remove Zeke's Herald, they realized that they needed an item with Zeke in its name, and decided they could make a new support item that people would actually build.

Its not a replacement, but Riot presented it to us as a rework of the original item, not as a completely new item. Of course Zeke needs an item named after him, but thats not the point at all - this item was introduced to us as a "rework" of Zeke's Herald, with the name Zeke's Herald, and the same icon - if it isn't going to actually be a replacement for the current Zeke's then Riot needs to create an item to fill the void that this creates. There needs to be an item for supports that can scale off of AD - not just Jarvan, but also easily Thresh, the rare Ashe or Lee Sin supports, and, if the other stats on the item allow for them to build it, other tanky supports whose kits encourage AAs (Taric, Braum, Leona)

Ok, I see what you mean. Having an AD support item would actually be quite nice.
