How to counter Fiddlestick ult in team fights?

I am really curious. Just lost to a Fid who was fed and there was little I could do about him. He would ult my back line, decimate them in 1 second and then zhonyas. By the time his zhonyas ended we were practically dead.

If Wukong is "unfair" how do you counter Fid + Zhonyas? Literally can't... yet he deals A LOT more damage than Wukong's ult in a much larger range, and he can still use other abilities while its going off.

EDIT his ult deals 1625 base damage over 5 seconds. With 300 AP the damage goes up to 2300 damage. Half of his ult he is invulnerable through Zhonyas.. the ult range is 800, so it is pretty wide. If you engage or get engaged on, if you cannot win the trade quickly 4v5 once Fiddle ults in he decimates the team and pops Zhonyas.

I don't think anyone here seems to find it frustrating like it was for me though, so I guess fuck it.

You ward over walls and back up when he is ulting in or shoot him down before he can.

Fiddledick is really predictable. You just need to look at the map and see where his teammates are and where you are on the map and can predict where he is 90% of the time. Unless he's really fed he won't decimate any back line quick enough that you can't kite him.

edit: I love when people come on forum and ask for advice but then gets triggered by anyone who give actual advice instead of saying "You're right X is OP and Riot should gut them."

Don't let him get fed in the first place. :)

You have to get a lot of vision. His ult can be interrupted during channeling. At the very least, you can scatter so that not all of you die.

I once had a Fiddle ult me in the jungle when playing Azir. I pushed him out of the jungle with my Ult and walled it off so he couldn't walk back in :p

A great way to counter fiddle is to have a tanky top/jg/sup who can cc

They have to sacrifice themselves, but if they build a mr item or two, they should be able to comeout more than half health in mid game and probably a little less than that at late game.

To be honest disengage is just the best thing to do when a fiddle ults, kinda like how brand ult, w, e then your team pops. Just don't stick that close together

Alistar Hardest counter to fiddlesticks. He can ult out of fiddle fear and knock him away from his team. Other strong counters to fiddle LeeSin Gragas Veigar item 3140 item 3222 item 3111 item 3194 summoner 1 Azir

Janna can be good, however alistar is better since he can't be feared or silenced due to his ult. Usually I fear janna when I ult into her team and hourglass the moment it runs out so I don't get ulted away.

One of the best ways to deal with a fiddlesticks is just bursting him down the moment he ults in. If you can 100 to 0 him or force an early hourglass his damage can be next to nothing.

well heres the thing if he is fed and he is killing your squishy's blowing them up as you say then your team needs to build accordingly ... aka MR

fiddle is an aoe ult he wants to use it when your grouped to get max damage on as many people as possible. therefore bunching up vs him or fighting in choke points is a no no.
