Wukong - decrease mana costs

I know compensation buffs are the new hate trend. I am sorry.

Since MonkeyKing received so many nerfs, which I am fine with, can the mana costs on him Q and E get reduced by 5 mana at all levels? Very minimal change, but I think it would be a great QoL change for him. His base mana is very small, and his mana growth is average, forcing the item 2033 start on players.

I understand Wukong's burst being lowered and power needing to be added elsewhere. Attack speed was one element to help Jungle.

However, I would agree that Mana Costs are an issue and could be an easy QoL change to address that could return some power without bringing back the original problem of One Shotting.

Considering that Wukong's Level 1 Q is just about the worst auto-attack reset in the game, the fact that it has one of the highest mana costs as well is just too much.

It's painfully obvious that Wukong will be left in the gutter for awhile. Which is weird, because Riot claims he's a popular champion and China and don't want to change him too much (at least when it comes to VGUs).

I have no idea what they're going to do with him or what it would take to "fix" him. His burst was too high (as if that's not common with a lot of champions) so he got nerfed, which I understand. What I don't understand is making his Q useless at level 1 and addressing his jungle clear problems with an attack speed buff that doesn't raise the actual ratio.

I think the burst damage nerfs are fine, but to nerf him so hard without a meaningful compensation buff makes it seem like they have no idea what to do with him.

Lowering mana costs would help, but I think the problem is that people hate to play against his kit and Riot doesn't want to rework his kit due to the fandom in China. So their "best" option is to let him rot. Opposing players don't have to worry about him one shotting and players in China get to keep a favorite champion, even if he sucks.

Riot mentioned they wanted to make some changes to him in the form of sustain. I'd be fine for that, I just hope it happens soon, like before Season 9 starts. I have been waiting years to see proper Wukong changes.

I think the buff on his Q was great for more burst, but its basically a big reason why he is getting shredded now. I would have much more preferred they reverted his S4 nerf on his Q on the armor shred instead of adding a lot more scaling damage. Hopefully they do him some justice soon.

They mentioned they wanted to make changes, and then the attack speed buff came out... That makes me feel like that WAS their change to Wukong, although it wasn't even close to enough.

I agree. His Q + items now in the game really caused for a big nerf. But right now, his Q is so awful, a drop in mana cost could help a bit, but not much. I'd be happy with that reverted Q - especially if the mana was reduced.

i simply fail to see how u can wukong a champion that is "in the gutter" https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/monkeyking/platinum

there isnt a single elo where he is "bad" in every single elo he is viable in top and mid and it isnt until diamond + that his jungle goes below 49%

wukong is a EXTREMELY simple champion that is easier to play than Garen . Garen is obviously OP at the moment so i cant use that as a point of comparison for balance but.

i mean yes you COULD buff him by 1% winrate without breaking him.. but even then his mid winrate would get pretty absurd. (as it would pass 54%)

truthfully i didnt like playing him.. he was too bland. so id dint pay much attention to his mana costs.

maybe they could chance maybe they dont need to.

but unless wu needs to buy more than 2 mana items by late game. i dont see why he would need a mana cost decrease.

as a general rule i am very against riot touching things that arn't broken.

i would rather them just leave well enough alone, if its playable.. just don't touch it. maybe 3-6 months later if it needs a slight buff give it a SLIGHT buff.

but far too often riot just breaks something. and i would rather them not touch something unless it is absolutely necessary
