Quinn: Thunderlord's Decree or Stormraider's Surge?

Hello all-

I've been getting back in to playing Quinn recently, and I've had some thoughts.

First of all, Thunderlord's Decree has been excellent, and has added a nice touch of burst to my damage combo. But, I've been noticing that at several different stages in the game, enemy champions either almost get away or I almost manage to catch and kill them. Basically, even though TLD adds to my burst, sometimes this damage is not enough.

So I started thinking abut Stormraider's Surge. In many of these cases where I'm not quite able to seal the deal, it would give me the stickiness I require to finish the job. Without the TLD, I might have to put in one extra auto in the late game-- which Stormraider's can buy for me. Further, if I do manage to just delete a squishy, Stormraider's gives me an escape if I need it.

So then I ask your opinion:

Suggests that Thunderlord's is both more popular and better performing - so, go TLD.

Huh, cool site.

I wonder if it's something that might be worth changing based on the opposing team's composition. Anecdotal evidence, I know, but I've definitely had games where stormraider's was never necessary, and other games where I found myself wishing I had just that extra burst of MS.

I'm unable to test it right now, so I thought I'd ask the boards instead...

Tld is good imo for the early mid game burst you need, since quinn is better early mid game anyway, but if you think the game Definitely is going late, I think SS could be a good option.

thunderlords is better for what your doing.... which should be lethltiy with duskblade. Seeing you can use the active on duskblade

Duskblade doesn't have an active- are you referring to the true damage effect?

(I'm generally rushing first item Duskblade, yes)

well yah thats what i meant. Graves quinn and vayne if you can ult right. Other adcs not so much. people who build it on mf and or draven im like umm okay go a head but have fun never using the passive part on duskblade.

Tlords is fucking amazing in lane, (harrier)auto+e+harrier auto is half health with Tlords for most at level 1, and is also nearly instant.

Stormraiders may be better, but thats even less damage for you, and if there's more than 1 person, you want to kill that person and get out (although you could just not kill them and bail with Stormraiders, which is relatively worth as you aren't burning any major cd's).

Quinn just doesn't deal as much damage as a Jayce or something, so I don't think she's in a great spot right now.

I mean, it's about 26 damage at level two, so it's not amazing, and it gets drowned out by all the auto's and harriers you're getting between the passive, E, and Q. My evaluation was that I could either get the (okay, probably more like 36 magic damage) at level 2 with the thunderlord's proc, or I could get the MS to close and get one or two more autoattacks, which are stronger at that point. And that's not considering my high values of lethality and my null values of Mpen.

Either way, Quinn has no issues proc'ing either of the masteries, it's just choosing one to work with.

As to whether she's in a good spot... I'm loving her right now. I still need to work on farming and not dying as much (which will come with familiarity and learning my limits), but her assassination potential feels very high, and I think she works well with the focus on map mobility and assassination in mind.

Alright at level three, TLD is 30 + 10% AP + 30% bonus AD. For my general build with runes/masteries, that's about 36 bonus damage.

Level 1 it definitely half healths them, difference between Fervor and Tlords has been not really too noticable tho, except then again when I'm running Fervor I'm against more durable targets, etc.

Every bit of damage helps early, Greenfathers gift is also pretty great for that, what, 15 extra damage? Quinn's level 1 is probably one of the best in the game, due to being ranged and having massive burst.

Problem with closing in for more autos is that it requires you to stick around longer, which is a lot less effective when trying to assassinate. As I mentioned, you can just use it to get out, though.

Assassination potential is actually feeling pretty bad for me right now, a full combo does oneshot squishies when ahead, but you just don't do as much against slightly beefier fighters with a Black Cleaver as a Jayce or Riven does.

Quinn's win rate jumped to 57% from 51% in this patch according to champion.gg, I wonder why?

I don't know. Were there lethality changes I missed? Or maybe one of the meta picks is countered?
