I recently noticed a few additional stats on the end of game screens. I think it's a good opportunity to dive into this issue.

1/ The new "Ally shield" and "Ally heal" stats are a very welcome addition, but the question a player wants to answer here is "Did I protect my allies correctly?". So I think what's important is the total of both "Ally shield" AND "Ally heal", stacked together, and not each of them separately. Example use-case: Since most often there is only one "protector", the easiest way to evaluate your performance is to compare your "protection output" to the "damage output" of damage dealer champions. Ideally, I'd want to check "Protection output" and "Damage dealt to champions", and compare my bar to the one from the enemy ADC or something like that.

2/ There is a similar problem for Tanks. What matters as a Tank, the question I want to answer, isn't "How much damage I actually took", but "How much damage did I absorb for my team-mates". If I took 3K Damage, with my 250 Armors, it probably means I absorbed something like 7K. So I believe what's important is the total of both "Damage Taken" and "Self-mitigated damage", which you could call "Raw damage taken". Example use-case: I'd want to check "Raw damage taken" and compare how much I took compared to my back line.

3/ Despite the new and much appreciated additions, there are still tons of contributions from Supports that are not easy to evaluate.

  • Damage "given" to an ally: Sona blue aura, Leona passive, Nami empowered basic attacks, etc., I'm pretty sure all of this is damage credited to the ally using the buff, not to the support providing it. (And if not, that's great news :) ) Also, Ardent Censer. This item has been meta-breaking for a time, and we had no easy way to "see" it in stats.
  • Ally buffs: why don't we have a "Utility score", akin to "CC Score", that counts how often we helped allies with MS Buffs? It could also count cleanse from Mikael (using the remaining CC duration, for instance), or Armor/MR buffs given by Braum/Taric/etc. (At a guess, self-buffs should probably be excluded, but that's just a guess.)

4/ Crowd control score is a great stat... that no one looks at because it's not accessible. Why don't we have it in the graph section, and only in text form in the big table? (OK, sorry, "no one" is probably an hyperbole, but you get me, right?)

5/ Is ZZ'rot/Banner damage counted for "Total damage to turret"? I didn't check recently, but a couple months ago I made a Bug Report because at least ZZ'rot wasn't counted. (More generally, are all items properly taken into account? Slow from Deadman or GLP, Heal from Redemption, etc.?)

6/ A number of situation are not exactly self-explanatory. If I take damage while shielded, is that counted as damage taken? As self-mitigated damage? Not at all or both? Does it depends if the shield is from myself or from an ally? This is just an example, the full list of situations is just too long to put into a post like that. So, would it be possible to add longer descriptions somewhere with explanations about what is included precisely in each stats? Maybe a tooltip on the stat name?
