Ranked and Smurfing

So I am new, and I don't know a lot, and I am sure some of you will take the opportunity to enlighten me (some of you will even have correct information) but I am continuing to be frustrated by ranked. I won't bore you with more of the Toxic player/afk/lag/ seriously I'm not good at all and even I know you are doing all of that wrong/Trolling for the sake of trolling stories that we all have. I did my promo games a few months ago, and got Silver 5, I am way better now. I have more champs and better runes and masteries, have play tested builds and found things that work for me, but my performance in ranked has gotten worse. I just keep losing, every game.
I know, I know, I need to get good. That is the plan but unfortunately when I do I will have fallen to Bronze 5 and the climb through noobs and trolls will be far too difficult, leaving me with 2 logical options: quit or smurf.

Here is what I was thinking, why couldn't they just reset your rank every season? Fresh record, clean slate, If you have gotten better you have a chance to jump right to the head of the class, if you haven't then you are no worse off that you were before. Wouldn't that eliminate the advantage of smurfing?

I wrote an article about something similar on the website http://leaguetales.com/league-of-smurfs/

I would say a hard reset would be painful for everybody involved...

Reason: They abrupt change in the level of game play you would experience wouldn't just stop after the first week or 2. In addition to that, people who had no business being anywhere near the top of field, being carried by high elo players, would simply crash through the divisions once the divisions started to even out, creating even more chaos.

Summary: A hard reset would simply make a huge accordion effect that would last for the entire season if not longer, and if you did it every season... Nobody would have a true representation of their actual rank.

I'm not sure I agree that the accordion chaos would be such a bad thing (college football is awesome) but up vote for a very thoughtful on topic response!

If this was ur first season, then its very VERY easy to get placed in silver even if you are bronze 5. My brother's first season he placed Silver 2 and fell all the way to bronze 5.

Being in bronze 5 doesn't make it impossible to climb back up to silver, so making a new account will fix nothing. The term "git gud" is thrown around freely, but players like you might actually consider taking the advice. Not in a mean way but this game is probably a lot more complex than most players in bronze care to understand, and instead of accepting there are a lot of variables to consider, they just call everything op, busted, or rigged against them.

So yeah, if you want to climb, you need to improve first. It'll take awhile the first time through but eventually it becomes second nature (assuming you get there).

Some good advice is to narrow your champion pool down to 1-3 champions and ONLY and i mean ONLY play those champions, even if you are picking into a direct counter. You will eventually learn how to get out of lane without feeding and that will help you climb A LOT, and itll help you learn other champions too.

If you feed a lot when picking up a new champion, its fine, you are testing the boundaries of that champion, its a learning process. But after you get through the thickness, things become much easier and you can focus more on learning the game, and not the champion.

I mean...They do reset your rank. My suggestion if you're continuing to do bad is to play normals for a while. Never go on losing streaks in ranked or they'll go on for a while.
