Is it just me or is Silver V to IV worse than Bronze I and II?

If I could just put an opinion out there, in my time playing ranked I found many Silvers lacking in game knowledge[building MR against an AP champ] or outright not know what CC is. Mechanics aren't an issue until Gold of course.

The amount of game knowledge many Silvers lack is astonishing though. It makes me compelled to say the ranking system with its placements is flawed. People should be getting placed more in Bronze rather than in Silver V or IV.

The discrepancy in skill between a Silver II and Silver III or lower is large. Silver II is around where I feel like I'm facing actual Silvers.

This isn't a rock throw at players, but it's something to note. Low ranking players are being placed higher than their should be but high ranking players are being ranked lower than they are.

Yeah, I am now silver III and I notice silver I and silver II players play much better than gold V players.

Once you get to G5 it's incredibly hard to drop down. So if someone got some super lucky streak or their main was hidden OP for a patch they could get there while not actually being that good. A friend of mine had this happen in S6 when he had an insane win streak on Fizz for a few days, and then he was hardstuck.

Also there's probably some people like me who could probably climb to Gold but barely play ranked. I get placed around S5 every year for some idiotic reason and easily get way back to S3 or S2 every single year.

The G5 players you are playing against are not actually G5 players - they probably got boosted/lucky with their placements/stopped playing after G5 and had their skill decay. Actual G5 players are surely better than S2/S1 players.

G5 is just the place where everybody below it wants to be, so you'll have alot of people who actually don't care for their rank as long as they're G5, so you'll have alot more mixed kinds of players there. Plat5 isn't comparable to the rest of plat as well, it's more like the sinkhole where everybody lands who's either content with their current rank or those who're just not good enough to achieve more and thus will get tilted.

When I reached G1 I was so pissed off about many Plat5 players, because there are just so many who don#t care and fuck up your game once they die a single time. Same counts for most 5th Divisions. D5 and D3 are just completely different worlds skill and attitude-wise.

Again: that's the difference between division 5 players with an MMR below that division and those division 5 players with a division 5 MMR.

Actual division 5 players (with division 5 MMR) are simply better than those below.

I never said anything opposing this. It's just a fact that you'll have way more boosted, demotivated or whatever players in Div5, just because they know they get better rewards etc.

Gold 5 is the same as Silver 5, which is the same as Plat 5. They all got where they wanted to get, so they don't care anymore. It's generally about attitude moreso than actual skill.

yea it's usually pretty normal main cause of loses besides performance are having tilted team mates, yasuo main on your team, afk players, and the one person that is being carried to higher elo's.

Even though I have a 60-70 winrate i got stuck between silver 2 and 4 because the people in that elo are straight up retarded

The ones in bronze 1 and 2 are climbing. The ones in silver 4 and 5 have just been placed there and are on their way to bronze 5.

It also feels a lot more toxic. When I was in bronze one my team rarely got super tilted. In silver it just happens so much more.

I've only been playing ranked for about 8 weeks this season. I started out in Silver 3 and am currently in Gold 5->4 promos. More than half my time, about 5 weeks, was spent in Silver 3. While that's partially due to my play frequency during that time, my goodness is Silver 3 awful to play in compared to Silver 2/1. The amount of skill and effort variance in there is ridiculous. I ended up dropping my original plan of only playing support because of it. Player quality just isn't consistent.

But the second I got into S2, holy cow was that night and day.

Thats true for all elos. Any V division is going to have alot of low MMR/boosted players who only need to win one of every 10 games because of the ridiculous amount of slack you're given when it comes to getting demoted to a lower tier.

The 5 and 1 divisions of every tier are absolutely horrible to climb out of. At the 5 levels you get a bunch of monkeys who by sheer luck/ getting carried by a friend are in that elo, win enough that they can't get demoted (because dropping tiers is basically impossible) but can't climb and are a liability because they generally belong in a lower rank. Meanwhile at the 1 ranks you get the most ultra toxic people who are hardstuck and can't get to the next tier and blame their team for it. This is due to needing to win 5 promos. At the 1 division you also play with the 5 division of the next tier as well, and we already know how they are.

Soooo no. It's not just you lol. The mid divisions are generally where the average man is, and 1 divisions are where God's gift to League are who never do anything wrong and are only hardstuck because of teammates, and the 5 division is an amalgamation of the local homies who are just there for the ride because they can't get demoted.

I'm pretty sure if you start ranked and just do okay in your placements, it puts you in Silver V. Unless you do terrible at them like I did and get put in B3, S5 is going to have a lot of people that have never played ranked before in it.

Can be pretty likely. Those at Silver 4 or 5 are players that are just really friggen bad and haven't chunked their MMR or lost enough games to actually demote. B1 or 2 are players that are still pretty bad, but have managed to climb up to the higher end of their tier.

Well, if you've ever checked the mmr of a Gold 5 or silver 5 player, the g5 usually has a mmr of silver 2 and the silver 5 has a mmr of bronze 2. Plat 5 that of gold 2. At least that's what I see if I ever run into them in normals. Don't know why that is though.

This is because most people in high bronze are placed there, and have a very few amount of games compared to people in silver 4/5.

A bronze 2 player with 15 games is on average going to come out far better than a silver 5 player with 800.

The problem with Silver is always the same - they're cocky because they aren't Bronze, but are missing something (mechanics, game sense, warding, etc) that keeps them out of Gold. Lower Silver is worse than Bronze because they are where they wanted to be, and it shows. They give up on climbing and just focus on learning new champs in ranked. Once you get past Silver 3, then you start to see the people who are actively trying to climb.

I'm a lifetime Gold player, and I accept this. So that means each and every season, I have to wade through the cesspool that is Silver to get back to Gold. It has taken less and less games to get through Silver each year, so that's improvement, but I see the same pattern every year. I get placed in Silver 4-5 after placements, and I spend dozens of games climbing through this crap. Silver isn't Bronze, but those at Bronze 2-1 take the game far more seriously than those at Silver 4-5.

this emphasize in DIAMOND V , elected the most cancer elo of all leagues . People in this elo know they got there just by playing massive amount of games and will never get higher , and its hard to demote from their . Basicly a elo full of hard stucks . much frustration .

Dude this is legit, the maturity level in S5 is god awful. People give up, and have the worst attitude. Why do I get better games in B1 and B2, Im actually have a better game atmosphere in worse elo.
