My Only Issues With the BE System

  1. Why doesn't each level post 30 require the same amount of EXP? As it is, they currently cycle, gradually rising every 25 levels only to drop again. Why not take the total amount of EXP required in the cycle and spread it evenly across all of the levels?

  2. Why did they introduce an RNG component? Why not always give Shards + BE that total the same fixed amount every level?

Both of these things serve only to add ambiguity to the system and make it difficult to understand, while not adding anything particularly positive.

Would it be nice as you got later into the exp cycle, chances of a 6300 shard increase exponentially/guaranteed.

Because it sucks not getting 6300 shards.

  1. Is probably some player behaviour thingy from feedback involving incentives and the higher reward milestones. Like, I suppose having less requirement to level when you are the furthest away from the milestone offsets the "disappointment" (can't think of a better term atm) of being so far away from reaching the next one.
  2. Because it allows for 6300, 4800, etc. champion shards to drop at the disenchant value they are currently set at. Having it be able to be RNG'ed to be more than the minimum amount is acceptable because it's more and because it allows these to drop. If they had it more "regular" in the amount, to keep the rate it is currently at they would have to either lower the disenchant value (and/or the upgrade discount) or increase the amount of EXP required to level. Both of those would be less favorable and received far more negatively than the RNG.

That's what immediately comes to mind as possibilities as to why it is designed that way.

Or just give us some BE and not require 9 years of 'free-to-play' to unlock all champions.

This is a Free-to-Play game. That means that instead of paying upfront before you even play the game (because games cost money to make) instead players enter on the understanding that they can play for free and then if like it, then pay for the content they like that would have been given if paid for upfront.

If someone wants all the content that other people gave time and money to make, because they're collecting it I guess for it's own sake, it's reasonable they pay the cost for that amount of product one way or another.

Boy am I glad to already have everything I'll ever need.

I don't know, the overall time needed to be able to play the game properly went down significantly with the removal of runes, acquiring champions is slightly slower at worst and significantly faster at best (getting the shards you want) in the end it comes out as a win on average.

However, I still feel like this is the least rewarding system I have ever seen. It doesn't feel interesting to level up anymore, nothing is of significance anymore.
