PSA to all Non-jungle mains.

If, for some god forsaken reason, a member of our team DCs, you need to keep a few things in mind regarding the jungler.

First of all, don't expect heavy presence. For the most part, if a solo lane DCs, I'm usually gonna spend my time clearing camps close to that lane and just straight up playing in that lane. Sucks that you don't have a jungler, but deal. If the support/adc DCs, expect me to spend my time around there, farming my camps and looking for opportunities to gank mid/bot. Play safe, ward, and don't overextend.

Second of all, if I have to spend the majority of my time camping a lane that has DCd, and you lose lane, you do not, in fact, get to cry and bitch about how I haven't come to save your ass. You knew that my presence was gonna be slim to none, and you shouldn't expect me to be able to help recover your lost lane. If I have to choose between letting zed freefarm mid and going top to try and help you cause you're 0/3 due to your lack of an ability to ward, I'm gonna sit my ass in mid and try and keep zed under control.

I understand that not every single laner out there needs to be told something along these lines, but jesus Christ some of them do.

Also, thank god riot has finally started working on a way to remake games with a DC.

This reminds me of one game I played, last guy to call in champ select was given adc, but he proclaimed "I DON'T WANT ADC" and instalocked Yasuo after everyone else locked in.

Then he went top alongside Garen without a word, leaving me as support Sona vs Jhin Blitzcrank in bot.

Thankfully our jungler MasterYi was a pretty swell guy and promised to gank my lane and get us some kills, and told me to play safe. So I did, and he ganked like three times, and I gave him like 6 kills. Meanwhile the wonder twins up in toplane managed to feed XinZhao so we very nearly lost.

But if that Yi wasn't such a swell guy, that game would've been absolute hell.

Ah Blind Pick. such a terrible wonderful place!

Fucking amen.

Jungle and support are such under-appreciated roles.

Support main here, I usually am the reason my adc goes 0-9 and I barely contribute when he goes 5-0. I should probably uninstall. /s

Forget about DCs...You're entitled to NOTHING as a laner. Your lane pick should be good enough to handle most situations. Not all...this is League after all...you'll likely die a couple of times in every game on the rift.

Junglers are like roaming supports that sometimes earn the ability to carry a game. But you're entitled to nothing.

You want to blame another player for your shit performance or for getting counter picked? Tough cookies. Become mechanically superior so there's no such thing as a counter to your champ. Losing lane despite an even matchup? Practice your lane and champ more.

Blaming the jungler (regardless of the circumstance) is a fruitless endeavor in which no one wins.

do you feel better now?

Kinetika3 votes

A little. Thanks for asking.

In all seriousness, I have a lot of pent up rebuttals from countless games where someone inevitably blames one of the supporting roles. It really does get old quickly

I don't usually see people complain about this when it happens. I usually see the jungler continuing to farm while mid is open.

Thank you my friend, I expect to log in tomorrow and be downvoted to china. I intend on getting some actual Chinese food while im there.

Nah i think you'll be pleasantly suprised. I liked the psa at least.

If im jungler and a mid or top disconnects, i automatically take over the lane.

Letting the enemy free farm, get turrets or roam is a no-go.

Especially a Nasus :U

Keep in mind this can (will) backfire badly, there's many jungle champions who are junglers merely because they can't lane for shit (Xin, Amumu, Yi, Sej) and any strong laner will push them out or kill them.

A jungler in a lane is at an xp disadvantage, gold disadvantage, summoner spell disadvantage and often matchup disadvantage due to the design of many jungle champions, they should play it safe, let the other guy farm and merely protect tower.

When I tp bot as a toplaner and my jungle goes to my lane to hold the line while I'm gone, if they get overaggressive and die it sets me behind by a LOT.

Good point, but still someone like Elise or Lee can keep the likes of Nasus or Veigar from free farming at 2 minutes for most of the early game.

still, anything is better than letting a lanner get free farm , turrets and roam, that takes away any chance you had of surviving till they DC connects or even winning the game.

if you have a jungler that cant lane, just play safe and farm under turret, better than having an inhibitor destroyed at 12 minutes.

this is an obvious statement, ofc you got starting items for JG and smite, this is not a good situation, just making the best out of a bad one and making it so it doesn't get even worse. At least you can upgrade smite to farm better or trade. Also, if the guy never connected, you are supposed to take over lane from the beginning, so not really much xp, etc disadvantage.

tl;dr: abandoning a lane is an auto-lose.

The champions you mentioned are actually not bad in lane.... It is actually junglers like Evelynn, Skarner, Noctourne, Rek'sai, to a lesser extent Rengar (and Akali even though for some reason people put her in lane) who can't lane well because most of their benefit comes from the fact that they are in the jungle (whether it be surprise factor, or that there are things in the jungle that they utilize)...

Sejuani is actually a pretty solid toplane bully that can harrass a Renekton in the early game. Amumu is in a similar boat there. Yi and Xin are pretty good at early game farming and harrassment.

I find at any elo laners are actually afraid to fight against the jungler when they're in lane. Now, I'm not saying this is the correct way to go about it. If the jungler is there, they are weaker than you. However, the reason they usually just trade farm is because a jungler's presence is extremely variable, and chunking a jungler at the cost of your own HP usually isn't worth it. The jungler can still farm the jungle perfectly fine, but if you're at an HP disadvantage for free in lane you can get bullied hard.

And on the same token junglers often overestimate their own power against the laners in a 1v1. In nearly every situation a laner will run from a jungler. So the jungler isn't used to taking heat as well as giving it and they are often taken off guard at how much damage minions do combined with a higher level champion.

It's a give-and-take situation that can't be grouped into one situation as "this is the go-to response no matter what." Each situation is different and should be treated as such.

TL;DR I said literally nothing but each situation is different. You're welcome.

I up voted too. How is riot changing the game to remake it when there is a DC?

DorkunedAuras1 votes

they're making it so that if a person is DC at the start of the game and no one has died yet, you can vote to remake and if it passes, only the person who DCed and their premade get LP penalties.

So is it just your team that's votes or does the enemy team get to vote as well?

DorkunedAuras1 votes

just your team. the enemy team would always vote no because 4v5 is a free win

Okay good lol. Nice so when does that come out?

DorkunedAuras1 votes

No clue. There have been hints to it on the PBE over the past week, and it's still just showing strings, no actual coding attached. My guess would be, and this is purely conjecture, 6.11 at the earliest. If it was gonna be out for 6.10, it would already be in testing on PBE, and it's not.

Hey at least they are adding it. I've sent in support tickets before saying that it needs to be done. Finally it is getting done lol.

I think the biggest thing is that Riot's been deathly afraid of making an abusable system, but it looks like this one is conservative enough to be fine.

Just a note, it ONLY works on people who were DC at the start, not leavers midway through.

Think they could just make sure to only count DCs before first blood, and maybe before a certain time frame ( 10 minutes? ). DOTA 2 does that, at least the before first blood part. Hell, if someone's disconnected before first blood but doesn't abandon until like four minutes afterwards because f the auto-abandon system, it'll still allow everyone to leave without counting the game.

DorkunedAuras1 votes

My understanding is DCs at start atm. They're probably starting super conservative and then broadening from there. I could be misunderstanding though. I'm no Ritoer

Why do junglers create such obvious PSAs on the boards? The majority of us would logically conclude the message in every one of these past "PSA" boards this year.

The people that chew you out for not ganking their lane when it's constantly pushed up or not ganking because of DC are the kind of people that blame others for everything. They're never going to see anybody else as anything but wrong. You will never get through to those people, ever. Anytime they die it's because a teammate didn't follow up with something.

It's the way things are.

The jungler role is the most popular role in the game. So many people play that role, and so many people think they can do things better because that's just how MOBAs are. The same type of person you're complaining about is probably upvoting this thread.

I'm also glad about Riot's changes to DCs, but these threads never feel productive and sometimes they're a bit cringey.

As a top main, I've found that if you play safe and just focus on farming and poking over going for outright kills every time, you'll be a bit better off in these situations
