What is the purpose of this item exactly

3 way bolt for marksmen only and charges and applies onhit effects 3 targets extra range and now faster charge (does hurricane apply the effect?) so what is that suppose to do?

So i just bought Shiv on Yi and i noticed that Alpha Strike barely gives me any charges on it and Yi is one of those champions that is able to utilize Shiv the best but now it it does nothing more for him. On Q Yi gets around 15 shiv stacks.... really? 15? Thats all??? I remember it used to be way more like 40 or so maybe?

So all marksmen gets extra 35% Range Rapid Fire Cannon AND it 25% charges faster but mobility champions like Yi get nothing from Shiv??? Its just getting "better and better" playing as Yi. It feels like YI get another indirect nerf and this is like with almost every patch

It's for wave clear. Champs who split push can just decimate enemy minion waves. Like Trynd.

Also, it is a surprising amount of magic damage that can just eat through a tank who is stacking armor.

really? you build shiv to deal with tanks?

When they have a Rammus or Taric with 800 armor and 30 MR, sure.

Wave clear, Yi's Q uses a lot of mana. Plus it helps with his burst.

Ahh but that feeling when there is an enemy running away with lie 5% hp and they make the mistake of running through a minion wave.

For me, the only viable way to use shiv is on crit-based melee characters who dislike building tiamat and want safe wave-clear (yasuo being one of them). Ranged characters typically have better options (new runanns+bork giving a better effect that doesn't require continuous charging to get the job done, while also providing far more utility), making it a pretty niche item now.

yo never mind Rapid Fire Cannon is actually kinda bad

I thought RFC crits and gets extra charges from Hurricane but actually doesn't

But still i am pretty sure Yi's Q gave him more charges before but anyways
