Ever want to play the game and just have fun?

This is a pretty extreme idea, but hear me out.

What if Riot included an alternative move to PVP that was literally just intended for people to have fun? Some might argue that Normals is meant to just be fun because it isn't Ranked, but I still feel like people tend to take normals too seriously. What if there was a separate que that was specifically meant for people who genuinely don't care if they win or lose the match, they don't really care if you play off meta champions, they don't really care if you're trolling, they just want to play the game because IT'S A GAME, they just want to have fun.

Part of me is being sarcastic, or facetious, which ever applies really, but part of me is being completely serious. I think it would be nice to know that I'm about to join a game with people who are really just here to have a good time. They don't take the game too seriously because they know that it isn't really going to be the sum of their lives if they win or lose.

Seriously, why do people care so much? I know that this game has actually reached a point that people wouldn't have dreamed before. There are college teams, pro teams, professional coaches, tournaments, .. all kinds of things that people would have never dreamed of years ago, but when you get right down to it. It's a game. Some of us still see it that way. Some of us still enjoy it that way.

STOP TAKING THE FUN OUT OF THE GAME!

I had someone raging in beginner bots. Really? Someone was playing a champ way out of the comfort zone, way out of meta, which they announced at the start of the game they were doing to try it out. I give them mad props for trying that in bots and not pvp. This other person just raged the entire time of how they were sick of people doing this and how they should be banned and we were now going to lose. Beginner Bots. sighs

People play against bots for fun?

Seriously, though. Bots are either too easy if you know how to manipulate them, or just plain annoying if you don't. Some of us would just like to be able to play in normals without getting raged at. Is that really too much to ask?

On srs note that's why one of my favourite mode in Dota is a mode called "least played" which disables the most picked heroes so you can play most of teh non-meta stuff. WOuld be pretty interesting to see something here as well in an alternative que.

You would think so, but some people still take that very seriously. It's pretty sad tbh. But I would really prefer it to be more of a PVP matchup. I mean the fact that you didn't suggest Normals in your suggestion implies that you agree that even they are taken too seriously. I honestly don't mean to put words in your mouth, but it's true isn't it?

I play Dominion, mostly. Normals are all we have.

Normals are still (sort of) competitive even in Rift since you're still playing against other people and ostensibly the folks on your team want to win. The vast majority of the player base mostly sticks to Normals. In Vs AI you can goof off with impunity, more or less. If people are raging over bot games, I really don't know what to say.

the thing is whats stopping others from using the alternative as serious as the other modes? Remember Urf is ment as a joke and not taken seriously yet every match ive had so far is nothing but people who make it seem like they are in their Promo. There will always be people to take any game mode out and take it too seriously because that is how they are! everything has to be about them winning and nothing else.

I can't say that watching myself as a really tanked garen get nuked by the opposite team in urf in a 5 v 1 doesn't make me smile alittle. No one just let's go. Let it go. Let it go.

I think I would feel better about one person raging if the odds are that everyone else is there to just have fun. You see, if the majority of the players aren't taking the game seriously the rager just looks like an asshole, and It's actually kinda funny. But, if a majority of the players are taking the game too seriously, one person throws a tantrum, then another throws a tantrum and the game becomes less fun.

See but the thing is with how much people there are who play this game there are bound to be a bunch of people who take it serious. case in point Urf. too many people take it serious and now most people fun with the mode has diminished. is it a joke mode, yes, but there are still a ton of people who make it out as if this match is in Rank, and it only grows the longer the mode is out! While it may be true that people wont take it seriously at first. once the mode is out and a meta starts to develop, people are going to be raging and harass one another sooner or later!

It is pretty damn frustrating. I usually just play Aram when I'm by myself. When I want to have fun on Summoner's Rift, I queue with friends.
