What should I have done in this Matchup?

I picked Akali into Lissandra in ranked. I'm a 400k diana main in total & am a lvl 6 Kat. When I saw Liss get picked, I got worried because She was a counter to all 3 of my pocket picks, but I picked akali thinking that I'd had the easiest time laning.

I basically got Harassed out of lane with Lissandra's Q, and almost got doubled on cs. Liss had my early game. I thought I'd have a better mid game against her but She'd just ult me once I jumped on her because I got my full burst in.

I wanted to pick ziggs against her, who I have some experience playing, but I was worried that she'd just ult my ulti. How should I have played this game through?

Learn to play against your counter. It can help you a lot more than picking a match up sometimes.

Seems like you need to play liss a bit to learn her strengths and weaknesses . She has lackluster damage until rod. With akali you need to not use your shroud to hide. Only for slows and jumps due to liss W. Also you need to trade damage. Liss has Q early and then W then E. E is usless after cast since its like 15-20 secs. Also its very easy to bait since u have dash. So take short trades when she uses Q orW to farm. Since you have sustain dmg you beat her early. Then just trade her and account for ult. Bait it then blow her up. This seems so easy but it is difficult. Also dont hide behind minions if she has Q up for obvious reasons. Offset(stand away keep that side warded) from your minions so she has to choose harass over farm, and when she uses abilities to farm... push lane early for lvl 2 early. With mages you gotta know abilities to outright stomp lane. Like ziggs after a Q which is 90% of dmg is blown. Thats when u trade or he uses a critical W to ecsape then your window is huge to kill him. So overview bait abilities, offset from wave, trade with windows of time. How do i know this... Ziggs is my main(like 70% winrate) and Liss is veryyy similar so i play her too. If you hide in the wave they love that since its free damage, farm and pushes lane for an easy roam or roam, hide in bush and solo kill if they follow. Btw counter picks are bullshit. Yasuo and Fizz counters Ziggs whole kit and he has a dang sheild to block harass. But knowing your champ lets you win "counter picks". Instead of poking with autos just stay back and poke with bombs. Dont buy into counter picks. If you know your champ in every situation youll learn more about the game and carry in nearly every circumstance.
