PSA: When your team is 4/30 20 minutes in, it's time to surrender
Don't waste the time of everyone else in the match by dragging it out.

lol, awesome.
Well, someone won the vote.
"We shall defend our nexus, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight in jungles, we shall fight on the lanes, we shall fight in baron pit and by the dragon, we shall fight in the river; we shall never surrender"
Never surrender, never give in! Even if the game drags on for hours, we shall never give up!
Glorious Victory, or Honorable Defeat - there is no other option!
the funny thing is it's no longer possible for that. I went into a custom match where it was just my character and no one else. I didn't do anything to contribute to lanes but the minions can outlevel their opponents for either side, as some I had to defend the lane and others I would watch as they tried to take nexus while I was making a build and testing the champ
But...
The minions aren't pushing on their own... Each team has champions to clear waves and stop the auto push.
test it yourself, the minions can win on their own in about an hour
Yes, but they aren't on their own in an actual game. There are champions on both teams, and they aren't going to just let minions push to win.
While true, its always been true. Wave management is a pretty important concept, and due to some RNG when the first wave interacts it eventually creates a snowball from something as small as 1 minion auto.
The "even if the game drags on for hours" is probably talking about 2 teams who just waveclear, not two teams who AFK.
Yeah, i'm a bit sick of people holding teams hostage.
Duos especially. I had a game where a duo refused to surrender till the timer was past 40 minutes just because the jungler didn't give them as many ganks as other lanes.
That game was decided pretty quickly too, so the other 3 of us had to suffer for the rest of the game with nothing we could do.
yeah, i had a duo the other day sell all their items and run it down mid going 1-8-1 ish each and flaming our jungler for losing the game over one bad gank. Our jungler was 3-1-2 after dying in the failed gank. The enemy project ashe, thresh, and i turned bot into a dance party as i was 1v2.
The int feeding duo denied the ff vote.
If they didn't win with that score by 20 minutes, i'm pretty sure you can outplay them.
To actually destroy the nexus by 20 minutes you have to be really far ahead by 15 minutes, and then make one massive push, taking out like 4 turrets, without going back. That very rarely is possible. It's not nearly as rare to be so far behind that you can't find a way back into the game, because you can't safely move away from your turrets. Sometimes wins are slow but inevitable.
30-4 isnt really really far ahead or anything then. Geez I dont think i have played a game where someone was ahead in my life.
On the other hand though, if the score was 4-10 and got to 4-30 because my team decided it was over at 4-10 and trolled I will fully not surrender. I may be vindictive for it, but if you couldn't bother to play for the 10 more minutes until you hit the 20 minute mark then I will attempt to waste 10 of your minutes.
Nothing I hate more then people giving up at 10 minutes in and then basically int feeding because they don't think a comeback can happen.
Don't waste the time of everyone else in the match by dragging it out.
I'm so sick of people feeding 1/12 and then holding me hostage because "Don't worry guys, we have late-game :^) hehe he he heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh" while the enemy is more at risk of dying of boredom than dying to our team.
The salt is strong with this one. If you're only playing to win, you're not really playing at all. You can always come back anyways. It happens in the LCS and it happens in challenger. It can happen in your elo as well.
to be fair. if his elo is gold or below...... it really cant. players dont really know how to capitalize on mistakes. Me personally i play at like a silver to gold level cause i que with freinds who actually play ranked solo. Now this means that i have gotten to see what the game and the mindsets of the players are at that level. im gonna put it this way. its not good. As a jungle main I live on capitalizing on mistakes, but i also know that im not good at it even if its the thing that im best at and what separates me from a lot of other players i play against.
TLDR..... it cant
listen here fker cuase of a malphite ult i fkin couldent hourglass and do swain things, he won his team that match but said in post lobby, "we dident deserve to win".... that ult won the game.
so take your lil fkin high elo = god complex and shove it where the sun dont shine.
Why is this so funny LMAO!
aparently you didnt read lol. im not high elo. im mid silver to gold MMR. and i can tell you it takes MASSIVE fuckups from the enemy team for a gold and below team to really come back from 4/30. does it happen? yes. but that is the miracle half court shot that bounces off the rim 10 feet into the air and comes down touching only the net. Im a jungler. i spend 80% of the game looking at the map. Junglers have a better understanding of how the map plays than most laners simply because we run back and forth across it constantly. most laners at gold and below tunnel on their lane so they dont have the map knowledge/game knowledge that junglers have
apologies, id just woken up and had no cigs. :P yes laners do that alot....
if his elo is gold or below...... it really cant.
I remember one match (silver elo) in which we lost both our nexus towers and all inhibs were down. At the end the enemies either made a mistake or one of them got mad by the others, which resulted in our victory.
So, your argument is invalid and if someone really wants to climb he shouldn´t surrender. Because:
first of all. You CAN come back from anything, but there are some games that it just isnt gonna happen. in gold and below usually here is the general team situation. you have 2 legit good players. you have 2 players who belong in the elo that they are at. and you have 1 moron. all it takes is for the 1 moron to make some lethality character so fed that they get all your towers in 20 min. at that point. its pretty over. ive had games where it looked completely lost but we managed to stall it out for 40 more minutes. some of them we win some we lose. but honestly. its a loss 9 outta 10 games.

That pretty much sums up gold and below. Games are decided more by who can abuse the idiot(s) on the other team fast enough and hard enough to get fed first. If you actually get paired against someone decent, it's almost better to just leave your lane and go feed off whoever you identified as the idiot on the other team.
That's why high elo players say it's harder to climb out of silver than it is to climb out of plat. In plat you can win by being better than your lane opponent as long as your team doesn't make overt mistakes and goes even. In silver, you can't just be moderately better than your lane opponent - you have to be 300% better than your lane opponent, so not only can you crush him quickly but you can roll up the nearby lane and crush them, getting a snowball rolling before the enemy team's decent player is able to snowball off your idiots. Because people don't know how to go even and play from behind in silver. They either get stomped or stomp. You can't play safe when you know your own team is a ticking timebomb waiting to massively feed.
At the end the enemies either made a mistake or one of them got mad by the others, which resulted in our victory. So, your argument is invalid and if someone really wants to climb he shouldn´t surrender.
I really hate it when people use this silly excuse to justify this bullshit attitude of not surrendering. How often does a team come back from 4/30. If you had a 100 games that went 4/30 in favor of the enemy team, you would make a comeback in only one of these games and that's being generous. A more realistic ratio would be 1 in 200 games.
Please for the love of all that is sacred, surrender when a game is over please and stop wasting time.
I'm not playing to win though. Refusing to surrender is the definition of playing to win. You're holding out for some comeback that may never arise.
I play for fun, and guess what? Waiting to lose isn't fun. You and your team are stuck in base, farming minions, defending what few structures you have left. You can't place vision, you can't take buffs, you can't push lanes and you can't take Baron or dragon. It's not fun at all. It's not even a game.
Please show me the LCS game where the score was 4/30 but the losing team came back and won.
Not quite LCS but here's a challenger game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srBL6S5aU5o
Score was trash for QT's team. Spoiler: he wins.
Look while everyone talking about carrying and surrendering im trying to figure out why Papa Johns said "Pizza will be there in 30 mins" and its been over a hour...
Did you get the spinach alfredo one? I swear thats their only decent pizza. The dough is just too plain, and the spinach alfredo is the only one with enough strong sauce and toppings to give the pizza some real flavor.
What they SHOULD do is give an option to use that garlic parmesan sauce they use for their breadsticks on their pizza crust. The dipping sauce is cool, but doesnt give the same flavor as something baked into the pizza.
For what it's worth the Patriots won the super bowl.
once apon a time the score could be 4 to 30 and you could come back and win. when towers wasn't paper thin and tanks didn't die in 0.1 second
you still can, i've made a come back with nexus open more than once
Silver elo is magic
silver noob realize you must NEVER give up I win many games where we are 4/30 and then we come back, just yesterday I had a game like that and it saved my promos to plat 1
If it were ranked, then I would agree with you. But if I was playing normals for fun, but it ends up not being fun anymore, then surrender. Ain't no shame in doing that.
SHAME!!!
"3 out of 5 votes is not a majority! Duo's will decide when to surrender not the team and thats final!" - Riot Games
boosted animals will start commenting "if you are good you will carry your 0-20 jinx" .
no thanks. I never surrender
I don't surrender not even at those scenarios.. because I've seen them turn around
If a team is 30v4 and they haven't finished it's because they don't want to... which just means the other team can comeback.
Also, I don't surrender because I usually am playing something I want to play and so Im having fun regardless of match direction
And when I do care so very much about winning even more reasons to hit that "NO".
Anyways, this thread is a charicature of the real community, who surrenders at matches which don't even come close to being a 30v4. Fucking losers.
Such a view is overly simplified. What if we're 4/30, but currently have Jax all by himself hitting the enemy nexus. Still time to /ff?
Oh and I supposed all 5 of our enemies all DC'd at the same time, hmm?
Be freaking realistic.
I was being realistic. Such a thing has happened to me before. More like 5/25 or so, but I have absolutely won games with extremely negative kill differentials. Now, if you're not ahead in SOMETHING, then yeah it's time to give up. But I've been in games with a splitpusher who takes top outer and inner for 1 teamfight loss, top inhib turret for another, the inhib and a nexus tower for a third, and then ended the game for the 4th teamfight loss with a final kill score looking something like that.
It's not common, but it does happen.
but we have a better late game :^)
Its Rather true, and the most common thing is, The people who do the most feeding Intentional or not, Or the lanes or players who just do the worst are usually the ones who refuse to surrender.
at moments yes you do feel like a hostage
don't get me wrong if its a close game 33-29. Fine I have no problem staying but when its 8-32 its time to just stop.
Also I just hate when people do horrible team comp builds.. example had a game yesterday
Champion select we first pick Soraka.. enemy gets Singed, and Amumu. I'm last pick mid and say " hey we need a tank"
we select Khaz and Jinx. enemy Selects Malphite, and Miss fortunate.
I'm like ok we need a tank bad
Top goes swain.
I decide its time to just try out Taliyah again cause this is just a slaughter house
and yup enemy then finishes their comp with Talon.
at 20 it was 10 - 33,
tried to surrender but Soraka and Jinx refused. cause we had a chance.
=.= I don't like being a hostage.
normals, surrender is fine, ranked, never
Meh. I can't support this because I'm in low elo. It sometimes is frustrating when the team doesn't surrender but it's also a good thing. Surrendering alot puts you in a pessimistic mindset. I am a guy who often snowballs from behind when I get certain items but if I kept listening to my team I would probably have lost a lot more matches.
My team might suck but it's really up to me wether I win or not except for those days I get a break and get carried.
Or maybe don't feed 10 kills to the bot lane in a 20 minute game and then you might win. Mord bot with Ashe what were you thinking was going to happen with your Karthus Jungle. No support items, no vision. Its not about the 30 deaths (10 of which were yours), its about just having some hint of how to play the game. Come on now.... don't complain with that lineup. If that was not a troll game then WTF was everyone thinking in champ select. I would have voted no in that game to save the rest of the community from having to play with that group. The 20 minutes that game went on saved at least 5 other teams from having to play with that group. The only shame is that that game is still not going on keeping you all in it ;-). JK much love.
