I've been playing all day, friday off. Quality games. No toxicity.
Come around 4PM, suddenly hypertoxicity. Players going 0/8 everywhere, and racist chat on both sides.
Sigh. I don't like feeling like I can't actually play the game during certain times of the day.
It's like a switch was fiipped. I had great games all day, then bam, school lets out and my games are peppered with people who don't understand the basics of how to play the game or spam chat with verbal abuse.
First game, someone on enemy team gets tilted and leaves. Second game, the soraka goes 0/8 and flames racist stuff all game, her bot lane partner feeds about as bad, and then someone on the other team joins in with them. Third game, completely idiotic teammates like afk farming volibear jungles that went 0/3/0 by end of game. Not even around for assists.
I basically am forced to just walk away from the game and come back later tonight when they have gone to bed. I've noticed player quality goes up and flames go down around maybe 9PM.
Kids are getting out of school with their entitled attitude Young adults are getting off of work pissed off at having to deal with stupidity all day and taking it out on random strangers, being the very thing they hate Older people are just crotchety
Best to play when the kids are in school, the adults are at work, and only the people with no responsibilities are on. They're usually the most chill. For obvious reasons.
That's pretty typical.
You should see it during the seasonal holidays.
I know exactly what are u talking about. Its actually kinda ridiculos. I always stop playing ranked after like 2 or 3 PM, beacuse everyone who just got home from thier jobs/school starts to play ranked about then, and every game beacomes a toxicfest.
Pretty sure schools had this week off, so, it would have been people getting off work.
It’s always been like this. Kids and angsty teens play frequently at night.
On behalf of us still in school, not all of us are toxic...please don't single all of us out as a group, I have seen "adults" do the same thing. Anyone can be toxic at any time, regardless of age range.

I've noticed that too but I didn't want to generalize since it's just my personal experience and it may not be representative... but my games get more toxic when students are home from school or during holidays.
yup. They need to make this game a paid subscription to stop the kiddos from playing.

hm the differences between na and euw boards are interesting. on the euw boards the majority agrees that even during holidays, the game isnt any more toxic.

wells its because children get home from school this is a free to play game that is very popular among many people including children

Yup. Always been like this. Gain tons of LP before 4:00, then either stop for the day or lose most of it because the game stops making sense.

I'm with you OP, it would be really interesting to see data regarding the volume and % of toxicity in the game at different times of day, and I bet it will be different on different countries' servers too. Might be very interesting to see what patterns emerge.
NA has an always be a toxic wasteland of 14 year old kids in bronze/silver that think they are the next faker. honestly tired of seeing this in games it blows my mind.
LOL what i find is the toxic people sit on all day. then when people with stuff going on in their life(school/work) hops on league they get flamed by the lifers
edit: the 'chill' people who are on all day are only chill because they play with people that have an equal dedication to the game. When people get on after work and use the game as a way to unwind they get flamed at because they are not try harding like it is their job.
