Finally silver again.
I got there by stopping the masochistic blaming of myself whenever i lost.

Congrats on getting Silver, Mr. President. Good luck in your future ranked games.

I hate everything about silver elo. Literally hate it. Pretty much don't even care to play the game anymore since I have to play back through it. Its such a shit show yawn fest. Right when you get on a winning streak bam "here's the 0-0 new player with 30 normal wins and 16 champs. Don't worry their not a smurf and will slowly make their way to bronze 5 but because our placement system is shit their currently in your silver 2 game and even after going 0-10 they will still be placed silver 5". But then the next time enemy gets a "new" player their a plat 3 + smurf.
Or the time I got the 1-2 in their 4th game new player who average k/d/a was 1-10-4. Of course... their stats in our game was like 1-14 but hey... not like the system could have figured out that would happen right????? /s.
I just... hate having to play with people who may not even know anything basic about the game. I shouldn't have to be great to have a nice chance of winning in silver. Sorry I no longer want to spend 4 hours a night spamming shit quality games to rank up to where I was last season. So yes... I will judge that one game I play every couple of days especially when its a low quality shit stomp.
You do know these garbage trash feeders have an equal chance of ending up on the enemy team right ?
You do know these garbage trash feeders have an equal chance of ending up on the enemy team right ?
Yup. And it's boring as fuck playing against them as well.
Aren't you the kid who is/was hard stuck bronze forever? Pretty sure I gave you advice in the past. Best part is you have 1300 games played this season in silver 5 but trying to give out advice.
I get it man... and I know what you mean. But that's the thing. I have played in a higher elo than silver. I know what its like not having the average player level as silver. And you know what? Games are more fun. Games are more competitive. I don't have some brand new level 30 in game that gets shit stomped and auto losses for my team or the enemy. I get people who know how to rotate, communicate, and were way more chill. I got to play vs better people which forced me to learn more. To get back to playing higher level content I am forced to carry lower level content. But.... I don't have the time or care to just spam a fuck ton of low quality games anymore. I just want to get back to playing competitive games... not 1 sided shit stomps every other game where one team completely out classes the other.
Now is this different than being suck in bronze and getting to silver? Not really. Just more annoying.
Last season I could just spam a bruiser jungle and farm while ganking some and be able to out scale enemy jungle... hell enemy team by mid game. Now? Can't do that because of jungle level changes... and just overall game changes. Now I need to constantly gank for my teammates because they don't know how to ward or not be retarded. Which... good news is generally enemy team is also retarded so ganking easy. But now I get less gold and xp so I can't just guarantee carry all the time. Would it be fun being able to have to actually farm jungle a bit and look for more opportune ganks? Yup. Do I get that chance currently? O fuck no. Waiting to gank shit in silver is just a waste of time. Which is unfortunate because it just builds shit habits when you end up playing people who aren't completely retarded.
Like if you were on my team I would be tilted as fuck. Clearly with 1300 games in silver 4-5 there some basic shit you don't know how to do. I get so sick of teaching people how to do said basic shit because I already proved multiple time in the past I know said shit and am ready to learn new shit. But to get back to playing with people who know same level of shit I first need to climb through a sticky pile of shit quality games to get there.

Man get outta here with that shit. Your highest ever was Gold 3. Bronze to Plat is trash. You're little better than the rest of us. Talk shit like that when you can reach DIamond 4.
It's kind of dumb to say "don't say anything until diamond 4" when your no where close to diamond and less than 2% of the player population hits it. I may not be great, but I am sure as hell better than a good chunk of the player population. Sorry I like to live in the real world and not some fantasy reddit & boards bs about "your not good unless diamond 4".

Then why are you complaining about trash teams ? Why can't you be like all the other high elo players and say shit like, "If you're good you can carry". Let us "low elo trash" complain about garbage team mates. You don't get to talk down to lower ranks and then use the same lame excuses we use when we're losing. That makes you a hypocrite.

Just said I am bored playing with lower ranked people to the point I no longer feel like playing the game. Don't see why I have to spend a bunch of time just to get back to playing with people my same level. If meta shifted back out of early game to where it was last season I would be more inclined to play since it would be easier to rank up. But I am sick of having to constantly gank for teammates who have no reason to even be out of bronze, yet are in or close to gold for w/e dumb reason yet can't see enemy jungler or team running down warded river that I ping 3 times. Yea... I counter gank them a lot but don't feel like I should always have to to give my team a fighting chance. And hell.. winning is just dumb too. Half the time when we win I have a teammate a much higher rank than the other team and once I help get them some kills they snowball their lane while I control objectives and its an easy win. But it doesn't feel like a real "test of skill" more just.... o you got someone who isn't bronze on your team in a silver 1-2 game.
Fair enough.

Less to do with being a hypocrite and more to do with realizing what many high level players have been saying is true for years now. It's really not worth the grind. You will always get shit teammates. Every elo, all the way up, all the time, all day long, all year long. It gets old. Your options with an extremely old account that has never had a large amount of MMR inflation are very limited. It is extremely difficult, even for players like me, to move those accounts quickly. But on a fresh smurf? 150-200 games tops, about 2 weeks give or take a few days, be chillin somewhere in diamond 5-3. Such is the nature of bonus MMR for new to ranked accounts. Not everyone has the time to grind 1000 games on their main, nor grind 250 games leveling a smurf only to play it as a OTP account with no skins or runes (maybe not so much an issue moving forward....).
It's perfectly understandable to dislike that aspect of the game for functioning in that manner, in fact it's pretty reasonable.

Calm your tits buddy. What's got you in such a huff today? Usually way more laid back muh man.
Good question. Think I am just tired with League, which honestly is good news for me. For w/e reason I want to be back in gold before I stop playing ranked but don't feel like putting in the time and games to get there lol. I just know if I quit now and come back after season I will have a silver border staring back at me, which I really dislike. Guess I could always opt out of the reward. Or just... nut up and shut up and play until I reach gold tier rewards.
The game finally started making more sense to me last season, but now I feel like I am back to not knowing what's going. This season has given a new opportunity to work on my early game and early game pressure as jungler as it seems really important. But idk... games just seem so random lately I don't even enjoy playing.
Plus... I am one who likes changing up champs I play. I can't 1 trick one champ for hundreds of games a season and not get bored. And really for w/e reason the only jungler I feel like playing now is
. Which has been fun but once I get sick of him then what? Literally no other champs I even feel like playing in this game anymore.

Hi there. Friendly neighborhood Jaymc here, former master tier player and 5 season top 1% player. Acting like diamond 4, or even master tier is worthy when a lower ranking is not is quite a misinformed suggestion. I should know. Bronzies regularly get the best of me on a daily basis.
No need to throw a hissy fit over something factually incorrect anyways.
Dukues merely is frustrated by the game currently and this is mostly venting. No need to antagonize one another, everyone needs to blow off steam once in a while.
He was quite rude when I pointed out something very simple.
Yeah, i know new people to ranked generally start in low silver. Thats why i finished there s3. I've been trying to get back ever since. At least now i feel like i'm back where i should be elo wise, and don't have that huge ass bronze stigma over my head. It was funny to me, though, that back then, i didnt know what warding was or how to smite well as a jg main, and i still could be silver, then, after learning all those things, and rotations and stuff, i still couldnt climb. It's why i still believe in elo hell. I became better as a player, and my elo was lower.
Good job man :D
I always blamed myself and still kept going down?
Pretty much. People would tell me to look at my own mistakes, cuz they were all i could fix. So i did, and i started to overanalyze and see mistakes where there were none, or where they were very minor. I'd blame myself when i went 24/4/12 as J4, or 11/2/7 as teemo, and still lost. Eventually, i realized, it was that i got shit teams, and that it's not always my fault i lost.
I stopped blaming myself for every loss and started doing better.
Not gonna lie, with that title I was expecting a, "Suck it Gold V". So now I'm sad.
Yeah, I think it's important to maintain a positive attitude when doing ranked. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you go on an awful losing streak and drop a division or two. It's the most frustrating thing ever, but it's just part of the game. Remember that for every loss and every loss streak you have, you're likely to have the opposite at some point.
So just get in there and do your best. Don't worry about your elo. Your elo is unimportant. All that matters is that you consistently improve and try to master the game.
When you lose, ask yourself why you did. Did you overextend too often? Did you make a risky play that didn't pay off? Did you fail to communicate important information to your team-mates? Was your itemization poor? Were your mechanics (e.g. CS) simply lackluster? Bear in mind that even if your game couldn't be carried by Faker himself, there's still usually at least one thing you could've done better, and that should be your takeaway from the match. Sure, it's fine to conclude that, "My team was bad, so I lost." But only if you also ask, "That being said, what could I have done better, so I'm more likely to carry the next one?"
Asking myself what i could do better was, in my opinion, why i went on a loss streak to b5. I remember making a post in season 5 about the time i went 24/4/12 as j4 jg, secured every drag, and took 6 towers by myself(team was dead or farming jg or something stupid) I simply couldn't carry because my team was so bad. All 4 of them died while i was taking red buff and i couldn't solo defend the base for 60 seconds, so i lost. Eventually i came to the conclusion that sometimes there isn't anything I could have done better. That helped me climb.
I do realize that usually there is something i can do better, but, i think that always looking for that can be an exercise in futility.
To each their own.
What you're doing is clearly working for you, so you do you! I'm just glad you found a way to climb. :)

Just a bit of advice for ya that may help in your future games: particularly when you get ahead in a role with a large amount of map influence you have a very good chance of securing and sealing the deal. Not by "carrying harder" though. But because teammates of a dude who is absolutely killing it will tend to follow that players lead and strategy and whatever plan they come up with. You might try being a bit more proactive and vocal about what you think the ideal strategy is when you get far ahead like that. It's a lot easier to control the outcome of a game when you can get lackluster teammates to stop goofing off and get on your page when you're crushing games. Don't be a jerk about it or anything, but feel free to take on more of a leadership role when you have games like that. Honestly, in many of those games, your teams will be desperately hoping you'll do all the thinking for them since they know they aren't performing well.
I appreciate the advice, but, they don't listen. I can ping at infernal drake over and over again after a double kill bot and after we saw the enemy jg top. They insist on farming and pushing out the lane about 80% of the time.

It can take some convincing (even out right brow beating sometimes, lol) but it can be done and if you pick up the leadership skill you'll find you greatly enhance your teams capabilities in games where they are at least moderately cooperative. It can't ever hurt to acquire more and superior skills, even if they are sometimes situational. Having a trump card up your sleeve is always a plus.
