PSA: Coup de Grace
is pronounced koo day gra. It's french for stroke of mercy/grace, as in a finisher or even euthanasia.

"Coo deh-grah-s" will get you a closer result. ("de Grace" sound closer together as if one word) (I live in France)
But I do certainly agree that people should learn to pronounce it. Just because if a european like me hears 'Coop D Grace' on discord, or god forbid, pro-play, I am going to laugh.
Wait what? It's not cup the grace? /s
It's actually not pronounced that way at all XD
"Coup-de-grace" is "koo" "duh" "grahss".
-ce is pronounce, and "de" is sort of like the vowel sound of "the" with a d- in front.
But your translation is correct, it means "merciful blow", and it is indeed a finisher.
Vive la France.
and
is pronouced "nid uh lee" not "needle ee" phreak has it wrong

Just goes to show how little people pay attention in History class
Mexico is pronounced Meh-he-koh yet people pronounce it in its English form. There is no problem in adopting a word and pronouncing it differently
Definitely not. It's "Koo" then the "e" in "de" is pronounced like "a" in "a fork" and "grâce" is pronounced "gra-sse". Please stop spreading bullshit.
Unless this is a trollpost and I didn't get it, in which case, I'm sorry.
Cut de Grass
I'm french, it's pronouced, wait how can i write it in english pronounciation, mmm let's try: koo de grass, meaning finisher
Nah. I'm American. I spell things phonetically. And that is coop-day-grace. Just like fiance is fi-ans, villa is pronounced with L's, and creme is just shitty spelling.
is pronounced koo day gra
No. u don't pronounce grace as gra but gr- ass
I do speak fluently french, and it's effectively cou-deh-grah-ss
Coop da Gray sea
If you don't pronounce the 'c' in "grace", you will end up saying "fat blow", so please, do pronounce it.
\ku də ɡʁɑs\
With that pronunciation you are saying cup of fat. Grace is not pronounced the same as gras.
Edit: also it’s not day its de pronounced exactly as it looks. “Day” would be with an accent

I'm posting this because I'm genuinely curious. Webster's claims that the "s" sound at the end of grace is to be pronounced. Is this just a translational glitch?
Also, does't the word in French that is pronounced "grah" (as in Mardi Gras) mean fat (ie Fat Tuesday)?
