Riot is there any plans for BotRK?

It just does not seem to do the job of countering health builds well enough to merit getting over so many other options currently. And the current "everything builds tank" meta would seem to suggest that an anti health stacking item would be within reason for getting a bit of a buff to counter the likes of tank Graves and Tankali.

Buy it if you have synergy, otherwise get other things. I don't understand "xxx should be equally good on everyone" logic.

It is an item designed to be at least somewhat situational but it lacks any situation where it is really going to be a better option then something else.

That is the problem with it as it currently is.

It's a strong buy if you have high base AS. Twitch/Vayne/Kayle always gets it.

If you are naturally slow, crit build would be more appropriate.

Kayle always gets it.

Have I been missing something?

I only buy it if they have like, 3 or more tanks on their team. It's just not that good :\

Honestly, BoRK is fine. It was never designed to be used on assassins, and it does its job of hitting tanks hard well. The nerf wasa simple 2% reduction, but that didn't make it trash.

Combined with the changes on Master Yi's E, it is now probably the go-to item for him now rather than Rageblade (although I never built RB on Yi anyway, I always preferred BoRK), and it's a staple on Warwick.

I think it's in a place like Liandry's. It's a good item on certain champions or in certain situations, but not the #1 dominant choice on anybody.

The active make it used by assassins. Why do you think zed has been know to buy it?

Because he never had a better option because AD itemization was so bad. I haven't seen any built lately.

Actually the reason why Zed built BotRK is because his ultimate amplifies damage done through BotRK's passive and active, making him do insane amounts of damage to anyone regardless of how much health they stack, making him a pretty dangerous duelist on top of being an assassin. Even though Zed is a caster, he still auto-attacks a lot when compared to other AD assassins, which makes BotRK even more viable on him.

Even though it is no longer a core item anymore, it is still pretty good. It is just that there are better options to rush now.

Right, his split pushing was another reason he built it. I was on a cell phone, so typing was a painful experience. X_x

But yes, I agree. The ult basically triggered counting the damage dealt by BoRK, you're right. That made it a great choice. However, there's no denying part of the reason it used to be absolutely core was due not only to his decent synergy, but also a lack of other good items. Now, though, he has a good selection to choose from as well as still doing well with a BoRK, if he opts to choose it.

This isn't about whether the items good on a certain champ, it's whether it's good at doing its job. In a meta where health stacking is prevalent, an item that COUNTERS health stacking should also be common. That not being the case makes a strong argument for BoRK not being in a good place powerwise.

I don't know about buffing it, the issue with the item is it is also really good vs squishies as well. Coupling the slow+ Damage champions like Kindred and Kalista have a fine time deleting out of place squishies or fighters.

I think it could be buffed, but I also don't want to face it's synergy with sated champions and some adc's. I think it should be a niche item not one to be used by a multitude of champions, even while there does seem to be this health stacking meta. If you could how would you buff it?

I would be fine with the active getting nerfed and the passive getting buffed. That active seems to ctake too much of the items overall power budget as is. If it did 8% of the targets max health and stole only 20% movement speed for 2 seconds that would be fine if the passive could in fact go back up to 8% like it was last season.

The current active is UNIQUE: Deals 10% of target champion's maximum Health (min 100) as physical damage, heals for the same amount, and steals 25% of the target's Movement Speed for 3 seconds.

This item should be bought to counter enemy team building a lot of health but since so much of the overall power is focused in the active it is more of an assassin item then a counter health item. The game needs something to keep health stacking in check and AD assassins are not hurting for items currently.

sated just needs to be deleted and the non sated get a gradual damage increase that is most rewarding through objectives and kills/assists instead of farm for 15 to 20 minutes then come out to kill everything with 3 on hits for the effort of 2.

They can't balance with without changing Yi, Vayne, Kog, Sated...

Even though I dislike any %HP mechanics I have to agree, BotRK might need some help :/

yeah botrk is simply garbage. even on master yi. I don't see any benefit of getting it over rageblade. for lifesteal mercurial is better on him or pretty much any item that gives more ad than botrk. i mean if botrk is not optimal with devoure then what is. its just a kalista item atm.

Reverting the price increase on it and cutlass would be enough imo But nerfing it while making it pricer was a terrible move I rarely ever buy it on anything other than Blue Ez or Vayne now

I buy it on AD Fizz. The passive still works very well with his W.

They nerfed both ends of Botrk and then are surprised when almost no one builds it. It's like if you nerf the components, make the final item cost more, and then nerf the final item, people suddenly don't wanna build it anymore.

The Moment they buff it Vayne will become obnoxious again I bet you( she is the only person that still builds it btw). But on a sidenote a lot of champions that used to build Bork don't anymore.Twitch Yasuo Zed Nocturne Jax

Making Cutlass cost an extra 250 gold wasn't too good either and is one of the main reasons why the item isn't good anymore. When I'm building Botrk I feel like I'm not getting anywhere because of how much that thing costs.

ProfDrDeath1 votes

I'd really like to see them revert the passive's damage reduction.

I do not really think that blade needs anything after that.

Seenan1 votes

It's one of the reasons Vayne's hardly seen anymore (or isn't doing as well) I'm betting.

My Waifu Vanilla1 votes

Vayne's hardly seen anymore because of all the nerfs she has gotten and not the item. Yeah, the item hit is not great, but lowering her AS and AD on a bad early game champion was the nail in the coffin.

It synergizes too stupidly well with certain champions to buff without breaking those champions.

And yet the current meta of build items that give a good amount of health or other defensive stats and do a lot of damage is fine?

Isn't that pretty much entirely because of titanic hydra and these stupid new masteries they put in?

actaully it is a mix of several items all coming together to make building tanky but still doing damage happen.

You forget Deadman's, sterak's gage, and Maw also doing a fair amount of damage while improving defensive power.

As someone who plays aatrox often i rarely build this overpriced item i dont want s4 adc sustain again, but frankly foe 3400g 10% ls is just bad and without lw-bc the current health gets worse the more dmg u deal, vs a voli and or cho kench. This is counter productive...i understand riot sorta overvalues attackspeed, and if they didnt every ad carry would be nerfed, imo make 12%ls makes vamp and ls runes better, give 20% attackspeed, remove active, make current health at and above 35%hp and max below, make it give 30-35ad maybe? Ad might make op idk just a though, i know how much yall hate active macro though and this majes it useful if 35-40ad 3650g cost? Edit; with these changes at this gold cost now makes it competetive with deaths dance and bt and makes u think about what u need in what situation, could even remove half attackspeed and make active give. Back with max health and ad for say 7 seconds 45-60 sec cd sorta like ghostblade..
