I never understood this one thing about Yasuo.
When Yas ults a target that is under a turret, the game positions him so that he is NOT in turret range.
Never understood this shit.
The fuck?
P.S. Oh yea, and the DEFENSIVE part of his passive.

Oh, be appreciative. Yasuo can ult farther from the turret than that. You know how Yasuo can ult 2 people, even if they are fairly far apart? Imagine Yasuo ulting you 5 to 10 teemo's away while you sit behind of the tower, factoring in his maximum potential of distance (regardless of mandatory multi-target effect of course). That would be cancerous.
Jesus this shit again? His ult puts him outside of tower range because his passive doesn't block tower damage and because it only does so if the target is just a little inside, and the long animation means you're eating tower shots for free during that time.
I dunno man, in general, if I wanted to dive someone I would have to consider the risk of being shot by the tower. But apparently Yasuo is too special for that.
Yeah because he would need to be maybe just a little bit outside tower range, where his Q would be able to land? And he already only gets to use 3 abilities in a tower dive. And his ult is there for the safe damage, not because it nukes people (it doesn't).
His ult literally makes him jump into the middle of a fight and encourages him to go bat shit crazy. How the fuck is his ult for "safe damage?"
It's considered safe damage in laning phase because it gives you another passive shield and the enemy cant hit you during that time.
It's still not safe damage. Safe damage is Ahri Q or Ziggs ult from afar.
I've seen it extend him to be out of tower range vs an enemy that was pretty close to their tower
because his passive doesn't block tower damage
so? he builds at least one health item with Mallet.
Can I be pushed out of tower range when I ult as Darius then?
Can I be pushed out of tower range when I ult as Darius then?
No, because it's melee range and single-target.
actually, it's a completely valid argument. Darius getting automatically pushed out of tower range after his ult is just as reasonable as Yasou getting it.
it's not really a plea for Darius to be buffed, but a demonstration of how unreasonable it really is.
It's predominantly because his ult spends half a year doing flashy sword moves before the damage actually goes through.
I remember when ulting someone on the edge of tower range sometimes meant you dying before the damage went through, especially in close fights, which felt kinda shitty because by all intents and purposes I'd won the fight.
If someone is deep enough in tower range it won't place him outside the range, but the edge cases are because the damage is not instant.

Yeah, but that's useful in many situations as crowd control. Renekton can self-cc to inflict a longer one + damage, same for warwick and malzahar. And Yas is multitarget too.
I guess it doesn't matter too much if he still eats tower shots in deep dives anyway.
Literally I can be hugging my tower and he can still ult me without taking tower damage*[slayer-jinx-unamused]*
Because his kit is basically built around the idea of "hey, now that you know some of his mechanics, you can start outplaying pretty much everydody without a lot of effort".
As a filthy Yasuo main, I agree, why the fuck does his ult put him just out of tower range?
Because it's an AoE without full control over it like all other abilities.
As a filthy Yasuo main you should know that.

You do have control over it actually. Yasuo will blink over to the knocked up champion closest to the mouse cursor. That way, once the ult finishes, you can immediately jump onto a carry to finish them off.
And, of course, control over it by being able to press R at the right time, though this part is obvious and thus is being left out.
knocked up champion closest to the mouse cursor.
WAT. I never knew that!

knocked up champion closest to the mouse cursor.
WAT. I never knew that!
Yep. Use it to your advantage to able to kill the backline more easily after the ult animation finishes instead of being smack middle of the team where the frontline can deal with you.
.
You're giving me conflicted feelings.
Haven't I proven in the past that I'm one of the more reasonable Yasuo mains on the boards? Or at least one of the few that sympathize with how annoying he can be.
Man, you really need a more memorable username. I don't remember you well enough to say.
I think the most frustrating thing is that it's a teleport.
He's a wind-endowed swordsman. Couldn't it just be a super fast dash? It seems dumb he can do things like jump past a Veigar E, over an E-ing Gragas, through an ulting Vi, etc.
But then it kinda goes.. When he's ulting 5 people who is he dashing to?
Whoever his mouse was closest to, this has already been answered.
Facepalm that's my point.... You can only dash to one person... Like jump towards
Do you understand the difference between a dash and a teleport?
oh my god... It's because he blinks right now yes? So in theory he's so damn fast he managed to get however many people were knocked up and hold them up in air before smashing down...
If he teleports it looks like he's actually using some technique. If he dashes it would look stupid.
Imagine a master yi q being him running around hitting each thing once. Doesn't matter how fast, it would break the "vibe" of the move.
It's supposed to be like a samurai from a movie.
Or some op char.
Not a fucking dash knockdown.
Not a basic combo.
& try not to ask stupid questions? You just sound rude.
Also it's a veigar W if your referencing his stun wall.
while I like your argument, you're really just talking about art.
changing the coding to treat it as an infinite speed dash would not cause the problems you describe, it would simply create the potential for the ability to not go off. (if it was blocked, you would need a new animation to reflect this, but that animation would not occur on a successful ult.)
Dude what on earth are you talking about? If he dashes at 2k+speed it looks the same.
Yi actually goes untargetable during his Q, so it makes sense he isn't even visible on the map during it. Not a valid comparison.
Furthermore, you're correcting me on something where you're clearly wrong. Veigar's E is his AOE stun. His W is his AOE meteor of death.

He can dive you at level 3 and walk out alive. Every time I think the last tower shot will do him in, but nope he's a shit ton tankier than he looks.
Almost anyone can dive you level 3 if you're low.
You don't have to be low for him to dive you.
That's some nice bs

Good luck diving me.
Fucking come at me bro.
Few things wrong with this.
a) many toplaners beat yasuo in a duel earlyier on. If they dont, they generally dont get rekt so hard yas can take 1-3 tower shots and still win.
b) Hes less tanky than most toplaners with the exception of his shield, which wont triggr on tower shots and even if he gets hit first then takes a tower shot, his shield will be no more than 150.
c) You are seriously garbage if you get dived by yasuo at level 3.
Im not going to say Yas is garbage, or what Anhartamin said is true/false, but your comment is so wrong it hurts.

Those top laners do not include Darius and Fiora. Because somehow he manages to beat both.

We're talking about mid lane here. But top lane Yasuo has stupid amounts of mobility to dominate his opponent, choose his battles, and avoid taking any damage by utilizing his shield by being a coward.
c) You are seriously garbage if you get dived by yasuo at level 3.
So many people in Diamond and above that I see get dived by a Yasuo at level 3 are garbage. Glad to know that somebody thinks rank doesn't matter for once.
Darius should never lose to Yasuo, what the fuck, he's actually considered one of Yasuo's hardest counters top lane, or at least he should be since his entire kit lends nicely to beating the hell out of him (W slow, E pull back, AAs make him a god at extended fights, and ult is half of Yasuo's HP or more) Fiora vs Yasuo is a skill matchup.
Meh. He trades off high mobility with the fact that he can and will probably be ganked a lot and also sucks in all ins from 3-6 against most bruisers.
Mid or top? Besides, if you don't respect his level 2, you'll be weak enough to be dove, otherwise...
Those top laners do not include Darius and Fiora. Because somehow he manages to beat both.
If you're garbage maybe.
he ccs himself as well for the duration, it would suck ass if he was placed into turret range.
Everyone else mostly eats turret damage while ulting or diving, I got nothing against Yasuo but just looking at this objectively it doesn't make much sense, when you pause to think about it.
What's the risk if there's no consequence?
You're supposed to calculate how many turret hits you can take before leaving, that's supposed to be a core concept of diving. It's less interesting for everyone when this is taken away.
Compared to who? How many other melee carries have to actually sit there and just wait out an animation? The closest would be WW, and he gets a pretty decent heal to tide him through. Literally no other melee champion has to cc themselves to pull off their ult. An ult, mind you, that already requires a condition to be used.
So does everyone else. Why Yas is an exception?
I might agree with you if other champions who CC themselves had the same luxury. Warwick doesnt have it. Vi doesnt have it. Urgot doesnt have it.
You can agree or disagree with it, but here is the reasoning. Just stating a fact here. That isn't related to anything else.
His ult range is x let's say and it's an AoE attack, as many people can be caught in it. If you ult Sona and Caitlyn is within x range it'll ult both of them. So on the outside of the turret, if you're within x range of that spot, you'll be caught in the ult. But you are within x range of that spot if you're under the turret (just not if you're hugging it.) This is to give him the power to survive a dive since he's melee. For example Fizz has his E to reset turret aggro, Talon can leap over the wall after his burst, Katarina can shunpo away, Zed can teleport back to his shadow. Most if not every melee mid laner has a safe way to turret dive.
Again, you can argue he doesn't need it, but that's why it's there and it isn't unique to him in the slightest.
I thought yas was supposed to be a melee carry not an assassin. Ya know like master yi or tryn
