Some chain CC makes it pretty easy to avoid him stacking bleeds in a team fight later in the game, and without that he can't do much. Solid champ overall, worth considering a ban for, but his power at melee range is nicely balanced against his weakness to ranged imho.

they need to just remove the ult reset on kill then I would have NO problems with his kit
Jo0o5 votesDarius's ult reset is his payoff for getting a good engage in a team fight, and offsets some of the danger of pushing up in lane.
He's not nearly as tanky as true "tank" champs, so without his potential to pop off in a team fight, he'd be extremely weak late-game. He already has issues falling off in the late game, removing his ult reset would be crippling.

Building 4 tank items instead of 5 like true tanks doesn't make that much of a difference. For all practical purposes, he can be just as tanky any pure tank. You're probably thinking of somebody like Shyvana who must build multiple damage items in order to be effective. Darius, Garen and Yorick only need one damage item and then they can tank their ass off with their remaining item slots.
Noxian Pride1 votesIt's not just about items, mate. He has no shield, no armor booster, an extremely situational heal, and not all that much CC. He has almost none of the tools true tanks have and all their slowness.
He's not a tank, he's a juggernaut: Durable and Strong as fuck, but slow and short-ranged.

If you're someone who gets beat by Darius toplane, your goal should to stay even, not win. If you're behind 10cs by 10 minutes, you're doing great. Normally its tanks that Darius beats into the ground. If you're a tank, you contribute much more to a teamfight. Especially if your teammates can kite and lock him down with you.

I don't play Nasus unless Yorick's in the game, I play Yorick top otherwise
Noxian Pride1 votesYorick is a skill matchup that is arguably in Darius' favor. Do your best to stay out of reach until you get your full combo off on him (trap him with minions ready to roll) then engage with minions. His Q can't one-shot them so if he's smart he'll try to run and if he's dumb he'll engage and most likely die.
Expect harass while setting your minions up and have a plan for when he does.
Also ganks are your friend. Pre-6 Darius is incredibly vulnerable to them.
If you want to really piss off a Darius player, pick into him...
(Skill matchup in your favor. Use parry on his auto reset because the pull animation is too fast and the AS slow screws him. If he goes to Q then either Q out or in depending on your confidence engaging. Keep trades short because long ones are in his favor. If the lane stays even then your best chance is level 10, when you start getting strong and he hasn't gotten rank 2 ult)
(Must know how to stay out of reach, save vault for his pull. Harass him like he'd harass any melee champ)
(You won't kill him if he has more than two braincells, but he'll be beyond tilted from being unable to catch you)
(Either you're a shit one and he'll wreck you, or you're good and he won't stand a chance)
