Tell me again why does rune page cost Money/IP when it should be free?

I really don't get why players would even have to pay rune pages to use their runes. Rune page doesn't offer us anything of a advantage or a feature like a new champion so my question is why does it even cost? It is unfair how rune page cost so much for 1 SINGLE page unless you wait for the new season where you can get 2 for 1.

Rune pages should be free, there is no way rune page should even be considered something you need to pay when we already have to buy RUNES.

Hate when I am limited to certain champion because rune pages cost to much to buy even when i buy the 2 for the price of 1.

It's really stupid. RITO couldn't think of another source of RP buying so they made that.

its all about the money, even though you can buy it with IP, some people will spend RP on Rune pages. or they save their IP to buy runes and spend RP on champions or both.

lol you dont speed $ for runes, they are free via IP . you can get rune pages with IP too. its a free game. just as you can get champs for IP.

It's practically like saying why is masteries pages are free but not rune page? Ever considered that? Masteries are free but rune pages aren't?

it does offer you something. play a game with runes. if your so against it dont use runes or masteries. rune pages are free u get two to start with and then you can get more with IP i already stated that, but im the stupid one? at least i read.

Man you make yourself look dumb. First off 2 rune pages does not allow us to have a big champion pool since you are practically limited to prob 2 lane but every champion needs a different rune. If you only have 2 rune pages then you must really must be bad at the game.

Tell me since skin cost money i understand that and new champion/champion cost money or IP since they give you something new but what does rune pages do rather then let players have a bigger champion pool then limit them?

I hate people use it's a free to play game and yes it is but asking why a rune page that doesn't effect the game AT ALL cost us IP/MONEY?

runes and pages are free.

when you start off you can get by with to basic pages and do fine with them. it wont limit your champ pool or lane.

for example

an AD page

9 ad reds, 9 flat armor seals, 3 ad quints, 9 flat mr blues

an AP page

9 magic pen reds, 9 flat armor seals, 3 ap quints, 9 mr blues.

with those two pages you can play every champ.

you only end up buying 6 different types of runes.

to get an extra rune page for 6300 ip meaning it dont cost money.
