Every time you sign in, you have to remember to change your runepage in champ select.....

Ben Sharpio··110 votes·2,367 views

If you so happen to forget to select your own runepage when you sign in, you have to play with the fucking preset resolve page because the client doesnt prioritize the runepages you created.

Learned this after having to play grasp of the undying nocturne because the system doesn't function properly.

Do people generally lock in their picks and then go run a Boston marathon?

I've never understood why so many people jungle without putting smite on or put the wrong runes and/or summ spells. Look at your stuff right after you lock in. Like...what's the issue. When driving and you're about to switch lanes you look where you're about to go, right? So once you lock in jungle xin look to make sure you dont have support runes and ignite and exhaust summ spells.

Alright, you got me! I guess we shouldnt fix this stupid issue that didnt even exist before the runes update.

People expect the rune page to be left on the last one they used. Not some shitty premade runepage nobody even asked for lol

Which is understandable, that can be fixed.

But, I think you missed his point. It doesn't take much to take a quick look at your runes/summoners, and make sure everything is correct.

Deez Crits3 votes

To be fair, his point was tangential to the bug discussed by the OP. It's probably something that would be better off as the start of a new thread.

Cliticus2 votes

except it was only after 7.23 patch that this bug has started happening. so do not blame it on runes reforged

Deez Crits1 votes

His point still stands. Can you argue that it existed before the runes update? How do you know it's not somehow indirectly related to the runes reforged system? We didn't have default mastery pages before it.

Cliticus1 votes

it actually happened several times during season 2-3 for me (i played from beta to s3 originally on my first acc) where a runepage or mastery page would get autolocked in or refuse to change even if i swapped it. this is not a new issue. it has existed for a long time. its just reoccuring. this bug has not affected ME since 7.23 other then right after patching.

Deez Crits1 votes

That's a fair point, but the bug here is a visual one (i.e. different than the one you've had issues with). The client displays a different rune page than the one it intends on locking in for the game. You can freely change runes selected, but if you forget this bug exists you can be deceived by the client on occasion.

This new bug doesn't restrict you from choosing different rune pages necessarily.

Cliticus1 votes

i guess im lucky in avoiding it then, cause i have not run into it, that or its because i always edit my page due to vayne being banned out half the time

I understand your frustration but it's kinda offending because Riot put those presets there to help 75% of the playerbase that may not learn as quick as some of us, so they'd be there incase they DO run out of time and can't resort to dodging. However I do understand it isn't optimal nor efficient, and it needs some fixes here or there.

Maybe I am playing the same thing I played last time I was logged on so I locked in and went afk for a minute to get a drink or use the bathroom, and then I end up having to play Resolve Jhin Mid

Eh, might be the reason why I feel like my team is hitting their keyboard with a stump.

Some people get drunk and then drive. Just like some people get high and then play.

I still don't understand why the game doesn't remember the last runepage you chose for the champion you locked in

Surely that can't be that difficult?

Except the client is also likely to crap the bed and prevent you from editing rune pages in champ select, too.

BlackEyesBlue1 votes

Nothing to do with this post. It's just a guy who didn't pay enough attention in matchmaking. No different from a jungler forgetting smite.

Deez Crits1 votes

How would you feel if your jungler had smite selected but when the match started, the smite had been swapped for another summoner spell? That's the nature of this bug. It has nothing to do with double checking your runes. You could appear to have the correct rune page selected but in fact the client has another rune page ready to use in game.

It's a bug that only occurs once after logging in and playing your first game (according to the OP), so it's easy to forget that the problem exists. This makes the problem quite pesky.

If you don't save your Rune Page in champion select before the timer runs out and you get those last few seconds to change stuff, the game will give you the preset Rune Page of the main path you were previously editing. Just scroll up and re-select the Rune Page you were trying to make and finish it.

I'm not talking about being in the process of making a runepage. Every time you sign in, you have to select your own rune page(s) in champ select. It's locked on the resolve rune page by default. Thats what i'm saying.

Before, the last runepage you used would be the one you have in champ select. (upon signing in)

But the editing thing is a problem. I'd rather play lacking a minor rune or even the whole secondary path then having to play grasp ziggs in mid..

Guardian Angelos1 votes

I agree would rather much have one or two minor runes missing. They give us extra time in champ select to HELP us make sure we have the right runes and summs. BUT that extra time screws you because it just switches you automatically to the preset resolve page whilst prompting you if you want to save your incomplete rune page that you were just making. And then you get another prompt that asks if you want to actually edit your incomplete rune page again. And sometimes, it will just go back to the resolve page :) Moreover, they removed the clear all masteries option so now i have to delete one and create a new one because personally I like a blank canvas first. But that's just more of a personal thing.

Guardian Angelos1 votes

Note, im the type of player that usually only used one mastery page because I play a lot of different champions so i just make it during champ select. It used to be simple and smooth. I feel like it just randomly got frustrating (Partially because im slower due to the fact that I dont know the new runes like i did the masteries.)

chipndip12 votes

Better than my rune page saying "Sona" and loading me in with fucking Predator. When they fix that bug they can put it the way they had it before.

VexingRaven2 votes

You think that's bad? I've had a bug where it shows my last-used runepage checked, and shows when the dropdown is closed, but it also shows a totally different runepage checked (but not on the box when the dropdown is closed) and that's the one you actually get. I ended up playing Klepto Jungle Shaco.

MCNT0521 votes

I don't know about others, but changing your runes to the champion you're playing (when you're going to sup to top to jungle to sup to mid etc)

I don't know what all the runes names are, or every detail, so I try read through each one quickly and pick the runes accordingly, however, most the time by the time I've made my decision on what I want, the timer is at 3 seconds for game start

Oh shit! quickly select this and that, 1 second left, click save. Alright, should be safe.

Laptop minor fps drop

for 0.43 seconds the prompt comes up "You have changed runes and masteries, would you like to save your changes?" (Or something along those lines)

... But I clicked save...

Colgate Gator1 votes

As someone who adapts the runepage depending what I'm playing and agaisnt who, I didn't know this.

SanKakU1 votes

Well I have 7 rune pages so chances are I will be changing the rune page pretty often, but I can see how this can be a big problem for people that close LoL repeatedly. Especially dodgers. But they can come up with simpler ways to deal with dodgers.
