Why is Alistar a Warden?

With the subclass being what they are, I'm a bit confused as to why Alistar is classified as a more defensive tank when he's mainly used for his WQ engage. I feel like he's more of a vanguard than a warden.

Thoughts?

alistar should be a juggernaut

Because he heals his team, I guess. And his basic abilities aren't just for engage combos, they're pretty versatile

Hard CC generally is versatile imo. It's rare to find hard CC that isn't.

Knock up > Knock away is a preeetty good way to deny an enemy engage tho, and Alistar's engage combo is pretty short ranged, it'll likely be used to set up his ADC for a few free pew pews

Who cares at this point? every warden can engage, which is why they reworked galio to give him mobility

Two of the strongest peeling abilities in the game. His abilities are so much better for peeling for your backline, not many melee champs can make it past a good alistar.

He's probably primarily a Warden for his peel ability and his successive CC, although I'm mostly running my assumption parallel to Galio, since at the moment I can't really think.
