PSA To The Kids Complaining About Aatrox

If you were bad with him before you'll be bad with him now. I'm almost willing to bet my account that over 90% of the people complaining about how he is "worse than before, revert him" have barely played him if at all. No I'm not an Aatrox player either, but bandwagon complaining started under an hour after the patch went live from children that don't even play the champion. Most of you probably played him less than 5 times since his changes were announced.

Do everyone a favor and keep off the boards with complaints about Aatrox unless you have at least 100 non-ARAM games on him after he fell out of meta, thank you. Feel free to downvote btw, I want to see how many of you are part of that 90+% of the bandwagon people and are willing to admit to it.

Love people like you. The changes are shit, people are going to complain because they don't want to play this shit. And i played this champ from season 3 and its the worst he has ever been. Why should i deal with that for another year? Ofc im going to complain

Most people are complaining to get him reverted when he they never played him pre-adjustments anyways. I don't doubt that you've played him, but this post is mainly pointed at the bandwagon people.

Fair enough its just annoying to see people complaining about people complaining when the changes are bad and do need to be changed. If people don't complain its not going to change and will be left in the shitter for another year

His items and playstyle just need slight adjusting from people. From what I've observed from the few people I've been able to watch, people have been building and playing him the same way as before when the way he is now is different. Yes his base stats are the same and yes his spells are mechanically the same (press Q to ground pound a location, W to swap between healing and extra damage, E to fire a V skill shot for damage and slow, and the R was unchanged outside of filling 20% of his passive per enemy champion hit), but the details of the changes to his kit are what warrants the changes in items and style.

Lol the r was unchaned it did that pre patch.

He plays the exact same the problem is he is worse at it.

He now has a problem where he had to build attack speed and damage but also has to build tank to survive

It's really funny how all these aatrox mains come out of nowhere. I see that champ once every 40 games and somewhere everyone on here is an aatrox main now.

I've seen pre-reworked Yorick more often than I've seen Aatrox after he fell from meta. I'm willing to bet outside of ARAM I've seen Aatrox maybe 3 times since he fell out of meta last at most?

Yep, there'll be followup needed. We think the pattern the kit changes move Aatrox towards is better, that's not to say the numbers are right however.

Looking at Aatrox's performance today so far he's having a really tough time of it. Some of that's expected (people who've never played him trying him, people experimenting with builds or doing what used to work but isn't great anymore). We're seeing significantly worse performance than we'd expect from just that though if he was in a good place. We're going to start testing buffs as a result, possibly for the next patch, possibly for a hotfix before then depending on how Aatrox does over the next few days.

Note that if Riot thinks he might need hotfix buffs his win rates probably pretty terrible right now.

They're terrible because kids are bad with Aatrox. All of these "mains" showing up and complaining on the boards are why the rates are dropping. I wouldn't be surprised if some people lose on purpose to drop his winrate more to revert the changes even though they'll play him just as often as they all did before, never.

There are those players of course, but Riot expects those players, and even taking that into account his win rate looks lower than it should be. Thus Riot's concern.

I wouldn't be surprised if some people lose on purpose to drop his winrate more to revert the changes even though they'll play him just as often as they all did before, never.

There might be 5 people doing that, but not enough to skew the stats by any significant margin.
