Which lane will not get a new champion this year?

So far we've had an ADC and 2 midlaners. The year is half over and you know riot isn't going to release a new champ anytime near worlds. The last calendar year only saw 5 new champs with ADC mains getting screwed over. So I don't see riot doing anything to buck the trend of releasing too few new champions.

So which lane isn't going to receive a new champ?

Top - only got Illoai last year and she's pretty good right now.
Jungle - got kindred last year. She was good but I think the nerfs finally caught up to her as she's sitting on a 46% win rate. Support - got bard and tahm kench last year... both supports have the ability to troll their teams. The catfish isn't much fun to play against and while a good bard is nice, a bad one will make your team cry.

So my odds on favorite not to get a new champion this year is support.

Two champs are left, if they are going by their usual 5 per year. They can release a champion that can double as a top and jungle (many bruisers) and a support.

While this would technically work, their recent junglers and last tops were

Illaoi Kindred RekSai Gnar not including champs like ekko or aussie who were meant for mid lane but can go jungle or top in ekko's case. If you discount kindred, the last non-briuser designed for jungler/top was Zac. And that was early 2013.

So there's a good chance you are right, but riot might look into another style of champ for top/jungle because with one exception, that's all they've been doing lately and they've shown over the past few years they are trying to push in new ideas.
