Karthus

I'm not going to get into a whole discussion on why our favorite Death Singer is bad.

I am here to offer some solutions to said badness.

Karthus's identity is all around how unique of a champion he is; with a ulti that hits everyone anywhere on the map. Very quick Q spammable ability. Finally the I have died but I can still do stuff passive.

Those are key to Karthus's identity.

The known flaws to Karthus in today's meta and just game.

Dashes. Invulnerability. Shields/Spellshields/Heals. Etc.

Passive is a must keep; but should be tweaked to make him better. The direction in which I was thinking about changing his passive would be to give him increased spell range when he dies, personally I was talking to plenty of friends about Karthus and most of them dislike his passive because in order to get 100% efficiency out of Karthus's current kit. It requires him to die. If we look at the other champions that require them to "die" we have Anivia Aatrox Zac . Who all revive. We used to have Zyra for he skillshot passive, which then was removed. The other champion that comes to mind is KogMaw. We also have a champion that is 100% useful because of death with his kit Zilean . Aside from KogMaw Karthus is the other champion that doesn't get much out of his passive.

Kog's Passive is hands down better than Karthus' because it is true damage; and he is able to move about.

The options I think that would be good with Karthus would be.

1: Increased Spell range on all spells. 2: While dead he gains 15% additional damage on all spells. 3: Upon death everyone within a certain range of him becomes CC'd for 1/1.25/1.5 seconds.

I like the speed of his Q and how it does more damage with fewer targets to hit. I think that, that should be kept.

The W feels very out of place now with all of the dashes in the game. A Ahri Fizz Katarina Leblanc Lissandra Yasuo Etc. Could care less about that wall being up. With either low CD dashes or Blinks to completely avoid the wall, his wall is just out of date.

Solution to his Wall.

1: After a champion goes through the wall they can not blink/dash for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds. That way the are punished for not play cautiously around Karthus. 2: The Taliyah mines. But instead of a zone its a line. If a champion dashes through the wall; they take a massive amount of damage. Forcing champions to consider when they want to engage on Karthus.

His E is perfectly fine as it is; it has a large area that moves around with him and is not disabled when he is CC'd (unlike Anivia's Ulti)

His ulti the most troublesome thing about Karthus.

Simple.

Reduce the damage on it to about 50% of what it currently has, but give it more unique ability.

1: Ignore's Invulnerability, Chronoshift, Kindred's Ulti, Tarics Ulti, and Spell shields. I personally believe that the Singer of Death should make sure people who think that they are safe in these ulti's are not safe.

2: If that would be considered overpowered because then one champion counters the ulti of many other champions, then reduce the Cooldown while Reducing the damage. If we take into account all the counters to his ulti then we need to adjust his cooldown as well, and the fact that every team can play around when his ulti is up and when it is down.

If you have any idea's on what to do to Karthus to make him feel more "New League" then Season 2. Please drop it off in the comment section below. I am always wanting to see what other people think.

P.S. If you really think that Karthus is fine as he currently is; play Karthus against any of the people I have mentioned above at a same skill level.

TL::DR

Buff Karthus Plox @Riot @Meddler @Phreak @Targons_Blade @ReworkTeam

from all of what you said, this is all he needs. reduce the cooldown of his ulti, reduce the damage, and possibly do more on it.

Let him move during his passive

That would be a overpowered. 8 Seconds of damage. The only thing you can do is run. Instead of shifting the teamfight somewhere else. That would be too strong. You would have to wait 8 seconds for another reengage because karthus still does plenty of damage as it is. He is one of the strongest Late Game Mages with one of the highest DPS. That would ruin some champions if played against Karthus if he could move around like Amumu, Malphite. Large CC area champions with Long CD ultis would be hurt by that. He would end up being too strong against them.
