i thought the point of masteries was to get players to play new stuff? whats the point of playing my best champ 40 more games for a mastery

i can play poppy and do absolutely shit, and still get mastery points. they dont really matter.

Except masteries don't expect much from you other than playing the fuqing champ You're not entitled to anything from doing what you have always been If you were expected to be adept at a champ.. idk actual mastery... and it was some how quantifiable, then it might be worth shit!

the point is more for personal progress tracking than anything else, at least in my view. If you play 40 matches with a champion, it doesn't matter what your skill level is, you are going to know that champion pretty well. you may not be mechanically skilled but you at least know what the champion is capable of.
