after new galio rework i need a new bulky/anti-assassin/midlaner

i tried getting into lissandra but she doesn't have the bulk.

i tried cho gath but it was laughable and "i didn't lose lane" but i didn't have room to succeed either.

i've been toying with diana but its always a volatile matchup "better player wins" and she lacks the escapes galio had. basically i like running away from enemy junglers scott free.

i want to punish an enemy team for picking 5 squishies and having no MR...

i want to be bulky too.

nothing fills my niche pick like galio does :(

whats an optional replacement for what im looking for?

Assassin's are all about bursting you out in a short time. Vlad is extremely good against them because... well 1) pool (just avoid the damage) and 2) most healing kind of screws assassins.

vlads laughable right now, little damages, swains alright if i can counterpick an already picked assassin doesn't do much if im first pick, gragas seems like something to try but i dont own him yet.

Heimerdinger Not exactly anti-assassin, but he does create zones that prevent assassins from getting in and killing. Not to mention, you can get pretty tanky and still do a decent amount of damage. In terms of jungle ganks, you can block any skill-shot with a turret, and your empowered E is basically a triple AOE stun.

Kayle In some ways the ultimate assassin counter, Kayle can do a massive amount of damage, with an easy to learn/use kit. However, you don't get much out of mastering her, since her skillcaps pretty low, and without items she's useless.

Swain Tanky, with nice damage/heals, and an AOE snare. Plus Beatrice does a great job of denying assassins farm. Not only that, if you pick up a Zhonya's, you can ult, Zhonya's, then heal back a portion of the assassins burst, as well as force them away from you. However, keep in mind this works best when you have lots of mana/minions nearby.

Karma Your empowered Q's will deal tons of damage, your shield can save you in the tightest of spots, and is excellent for baits, and your snare reveals invisible champions. All in all, a good anti-assasin. The only problem is your kinda lacking on the tanky side, as if you build tank, you don't do damage.
