Eternity Passive. You're doing it wrong!
I'm betting that most people who currently build
into
,
, and
in order to use it's Eternity Passive are doing so because they think,
"If I can spam a lot of mana, I can get a lot of health back."
So, it's a health item, right?
This is the wrong way of thinking my friends. Sure, it can definitely be a useful side effect, and it is certainly applicable on some champions, however, as a result of this Riot just nerfed your ability to do so.
What is the correct way then?
These are MANA items!
You take damage and regain mana, in some cases quite effectively.
Tahm Kench is a great example of this because of his E's ability to take damage as grey health and he recovers a % of it back.
+
= Good health and unlimited mana. (and decent damage on his R passive)
Edit: Backstory
Okay, so I think people are taking this a tad too literally. I do mean what I'm saying, but I'm being a bit sarcastic in how I'm saying it. Yes, these are meant to supply both, health and mana. However, my point was to emphasize how much more effective it is when thought of as a mana item than a health item.
So, what inspired this was a game I recently played where someone was clearly trying to use RoA to gain their health back at the expense of all of their mana. They had RoA, and nothing but offensive and CDR items, no added health, no added resistances. They were spamming abilities and burning mana as if they were trying to stack a late tear item, just to find themselves with less than 10% of their mana remaining, all abilities on cooldown, and maybe 80% health when they got one-shot.
So, I think with this example, you can somewhat better understand my intention of making this post.
