The last thing anyone needs is to be placed in a role they are bad, not well acquainted with, or inexperienced with when they are in a situation where they NEED to play at their best which obviously isn't going to happen if your support main gets forced into jungling (2 completely different roles.)

I don't think you read the post at all. Becuase thats not what I asked. I didnt ask if it had to deal with lp. Im asking for a pardon like players get when they are in their promos (yes you gain autofill protection for your promos). I bring it up because if players get Auto Protection at 100 lp when they need it the most why not at 0 as well?? Noone should be deranked because they were forced into unfamiliar territory at the worst possible time.

Yeah... No. It is difficult to get deranked, Riot is trying to help you up. If you can't hold your position they don't really care.
If you are asking for Autofill protection at 0 LP, my biggest issue is noobs who don't know what they're doing spamming important roles like Mid or ADC

The first part of your statement is understandable (admittedly, and it actually isnt diifficult if you've just been ranked up and have 3 bad reasons [yourself, or afk etc.] FYI you're "issue" has absolutely no correlation with autofilling. Well aren't you a gem? Are you saying support isnt an important role? What about top and jungle?

No, first off you need to understand MMR... if the game THINKS you should be lower than you are, it is easier to get demoted.
In order to make the game think this, you either need to play poorly or go on a losing streak... Meaning ONE afk or even a few trolls is not a very valid excuse.

I'm not saying they are the MOST important every game, I'm simply giving you an example to help you understand that players may repeatedly pick the same role while feeding every game at 0 LP.
(This system literally would be impossible at Bronze 5 BTW where MANY players could be 0 LP...)

If someone actually managed to feed every game they'd likely be at b5 and deranking would not be an issue. Obviously it isnt planned to be implemented lmao thats why i posted it.

Im actually a mid,support main who occassionally plays top. I've gotten placed in jg etc. while queued for primary support. lol

Anyway, back to the topic.
First (though not the point of the thread), using Support in an argument to avoid being autofilled is.. actually not a valid argument. Specifically, the autofill tooltip states a player is guaranteed to get one of their chosen positions if they've recently chosen to Fill or Support. So, if a player chooses to Support, the system prevents said player from being autofilled into a position they haven't chosen.
Second (actually the point of the thread), I would say a system that prevents being autofilled when in a position to move between Ranks is certainly one of convenience.
The argument that it would help keep players from demoting works both ways, however. It would increase the chance to save both good and bad players from dropping.
