What is the counter to shields/gray health?

Title. What items/runes/champions counter shields?

Clarification: I'm not calling for nerfs. I'm asking how to play against them better. Calm the fuck down.

Really. It's damage. If you are going to try to frame this idea in the terms of "counters" which is not helpful for this or you, the answer is damage.

There aren't items, runes or champions that counter shields. The counters are to bait it out / wait for it to be on cooldown or to switch targets if necessary, but most of the time you'll just want to damage your way through it because shielded targets are usually the priority target, otherwise they wouldn't be shielding.

I mean. Most shields aren’t low cooldowns. So if you pop them then they likely won’t be up again in the same fight.

Source? That is going to make a lot of Supports unhappy, myself included. Champions like Lulu can’t even keep an ally alive through Ignite anymore, Janna has her shield decay over time, meanwhile Riven gets a shield that she can spam which scales with her AD.

Stop nerfing Support shields because a non-support has a shield.

@ OP: I’m sorry if I felt like you were calling for more support nerfs but we as a role have been nerfed harder than any other role in League. It gets harder and harder to reliably do our job when we are losing parts of our kit with almost every patch.

Agreed. Especially since they hit Janna's shield cooldown AS WELL AS made it decay.... it is very lackluster atm. She still has plenty to keep her going, but the decay is just..... wrong. She isnt even really used for her shielding purposes really anymore. She is used for the fact that she disengages hard and has so much move speed that she can also poke with.

Im fine if they want to nerf her damage a bit on her W to make it so she doesnt have her shield decay anymore though.
