@RIOT Would it make sense to make a support/fill requirement for duo queueing in solo queue ranked?
To be perfectly honest, with dynamic queue coming out right next to it in season 7, I was hoping we would be getting true solo queue like we were originally promised back at the beginning of season 6. But apparently, not as many people think true solo is better than solo/duo as I had thought. The main reason they cite for wanting duos is for duo bot lanes. Which is what gives me this idea.
If somebody wants to join solo/duo as a ranked, then either they or their partner could be required to have support or fill as their primary or secondary. At the beginning of season 6, Riot said they predicted there may be some problems with a lack of players picking support and they would consider adding incentives for support picks, but to my knowledge, there hasn't been any incentives all year. This seems like an ideal incentive. In order to play as a team in solo queue, one of you should be required to pick support or fill cause while that doesn't garuntee the support position, it it's more likely than not. And support is the position most reliant on teamwork by far.
This seems like it would be best cause then support is more likely to have a teammate likely to work with him when it's a highly teamwork reliant position, and it gives a very decent incentive for support/fill picks.
Actually, now that I think about it, it could also be a requirement for one member of any size premade in flex ranked to have a support/fill preference for the same reasons. The premade will be more likely to have the superior teamwork and support is a teamwork reliant position. And it gives an incentive for support/fill picks.
