Why are normal stats allowed to be recorded?

I don't see the benefit of allowing sites like op.gg to tabulate your stats for normal games where you may be trying out new builds/champs etc. Why are they public?

Because some people play normals full time as they can't be bothered with the many issues playing ranked has. Hell, I just did some ranked so that I could be put in Bronze.

Why disenfranchise those who just want to play normals?

If you're implying that you want to be able to toggle it as public/private, I guess I don't have a problem with that, but it really shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, of course. I play all kinds of random stuff in normals. Why should it it be recorded as if it's ranked and counts for something? Normals aren't supposed to be serious and also, especially if you were playing on a team, you wouldn't want people to know what you do in normals. It at the very least should have an option to hide all stats on what you play.

BTW, not recording normals isn't' "disenfranchising" anyone. It has no comparison with ranked. You'll see Diamonds along with Silvers on the same team etc. Winrate also doesn't reflect MMR very much and is a pretty useless metric because it depends who you play. That's why there are people in Diamond with quite negative winrates. They won games against higher MMR players to make up for it or their losses were vs much higher MMR.

you didn't need 2 paragraphs to respond lol but really it doesn't matter. even ranked doesn't really matter because this is just a game. its just good to have a record of how things went, especially when you're trying out experimental builds

you'd be creating a thread here and a million people go look into the worst match you ever had to call you out for it. obviously having a bad match invalidates any sort of argument you have

Unfortunately, Riot can't make everyone happy. If they didn't make information for normal games public, I'm sure someone would be making the opposite of this thread, asking for Riot to allow op.gg and other sites to display information about normal games. Some people only play normals, and like being able to look at their match history on third party sites.

As far as you are concerned, my only advice is to take any criticism with a grain of salt. Other people might not know that you are trying out new things in normals, but you do. Try to use that knowledge as a sort of buffer to protect yourself.

Because Riot provides developers with a way to get your most recent 10 games, regardless of type. OP.GG just decided to save those matches over the course of a few months.
