why people complain about champions like riven/yasuo/gnar

because they pick champions who arent as overloaded since their champions have less tools they can deal with a smaller pool of enemies

meanwhile the 3 given above (i think that those are the most hated ... but the list is long) have tools ... loads of tools so there is a big chance that whatever you do ... they can counter ... and that whatever counters you ... they will have

stop complaining about champions ... complain about the design do'riot'os pushes stuff out because it looks fun on paper ... and you get to hate your lives because there are other champions out in this game

or you can just play the meta stuff ... who cares about 120 champions when you can have 10 that work (inb4 obvious hyperbole is obvious)

I'm someone who doesn't like playing overloaded champs much. Mobility-wise anyway. Here's my take on things;

Riven; She's just fine. She may be able to do a lot of things but her overall game play is so straightforward she becomes fairly easy to predict. If nothing else laning against a good Riven is a fantastic way to learn about the mistakes you make because she's really good at punishing them.

Yasuo; On his own I can kick his ass with pretty much any champion i can play well. My only issue is his free ult with teams that have knockups, especially champs like Wukong, Malphite and Alistar. No matter how behind he is, he's always going to be a massive threat in those teams specifically. I would not mind seeing him get an across the board light buff to all his stats in exchange for removing his synergy with other champion's knockups.

Gnar; Never been an issue to me. Sure he's annoying but he has this obvious flow to him that you can follow to do better against him. He's also a very good champ for punishing mistakes made by players, so there.

yasuo has actual tradeoffs for his strengths.

every ability in his kit is restricted to some degree. if you know that you can exploit those weaknesses in a fight against him.

his knockup on his q is only available every third cast. his windwall is on a really long cd and almost entirely useless against melees. his e can only be cast on the same enemy unit every 10 seconds, and takes him a fixed distance. the fact that his mobility tool has to be cast on an enemy unit in the first place is already a restriction.

his r only exists when enemies get knocked up. so he is either heavily reliant on his q or teammates to have an ult.

riven is far more frustrating than him due to the freedom at which she can use her mobility, and how reliable her cc is. her shield is frequently available on demand in a fight. a halfway decently played riven will constantly be able to trade without without giving you the ability to fight back. she goes in, stuns you, deals some damage and dashes out of range with her shield.

her w stun shouldnt be a stun imo, or a slow at best. or they need to seriously restrict how she can use her q and e as mobility tools and attach similar restrictions as to yasuos mobility.

as far as gnar goes, hes just overloaded through the roof. his melee form is stronger than most melees in the game. even stronger than the juggernauts. simply due to the massive amount of cc and burst it brings in addition to all the steroids it gets.

in his ranged form hes almost impossible to catch out thanks to his slow, movement speed buff and hop.

read my post again ... give it a while ... process it ... just a little more ... and you are done

you don't need to tell me what came of it ... but reading and understanding what you read is a really important skill on a message board

im not saying that anything you wrote in your post is incorrect ... but it has little to do with the topic
